When she was about two courtyards away from the banquet hall, she thought for a moment, stopped, and leaned down.

Sure enough, as soon as she lowered her body, there came the sounds of clothing slicing through the wind above her head. The silver robe of the visitor drew a wide arc in the dark sky, appearing like a wisp of cold moonlight from a distance, passing over her head.

The commander of the Golden Feather Guard.

Feng Zhi Wei let out a silent sigh of relief. The reason she alerted the guards at the gate was to not only warn Ning Cheng who was lurking outside the villa waiting to provide aid, but her main purpose was to attract this Gold Feather Guard Commander to come out and leave the banquet hall.

This person is like a silver boa lurking in the grass under the guise of the night, making her uneasy. The thought of having to sneak back into the banquet hall under the watchful eyes of such a person…her instinct is warning her of danger. She also feels uneasy about having this person nearby when Ning Yi has to deal with Second Prince. Based on her knowledge of this commander’s profession, once he knew there were unusual commotions at the entrance, he would for sure go personally to check it out.

Sure enough, he fell into her plan of getting the tiger to leave the mountain.

Before Feng Zhi Wei finished breathing a sigh of relief, the commander of the Gold Feather Guard suddenly turned around in mid-air.

He was quite far by this point and would have no way of discovering Feng Zhi Wei’s presence, but he still looked back from such a distance.

The moonlight illuminated his face, which was stiff and expressionless as if he was wearing a mask. His features were hidden in the shadows, like a bottomless hole.

Feng Zhi Wei remained motionless, not deliberately suppressing her breathing or attempting to hide. Instead, she concentrated on slowing her breathing, letting her mind go blank, blending with the cold spring night.

She didn’t believe her presence had been discovered.

She knew this was just a commander’s intuition that had been honed through many many years.

There is a type of people who, due to living in the darkness, are particularly sensitive to other people’s inner voice.

Under the hazy moonlight, the commander of the Golden Feather Guard stood motionless on the treetops, gliding up and down on the thin tips. The moonlight was cut into a million pieces by the tree branches, sparsely falling on the road in front of him.

After a long time, he slowly flicked his robe, a hint of doubt flashed across his eyes, before turning around and leaving immediately.

His silhouette was like a shooting star that instantly faded into thousands of miles away.

Feng Zhi Wei still didn’t move, she didn’t even breathe out a sigh of relief.

But in the next instant.

There was another sound of wind.

The commander who was just far away, suddenly reappeared at the end of the road.

This time, he stood down on the path between the flowers, his hawk-like eyes searching in all directions but finally left in silence after he was still unable to detect any movements.

Feng Zhi Wei waited for another while before she got up from the ground.

Just now, she had a contest of patience and determination with the commander of the Gold Feather Guard. Fortunately, she did not lose.

Once she got up, she did not hesitate and ran along the road a few steps. Seeing someone coming in front, she quickly dodged behind a tree.

Once she was behind the tree, she suddenly realized a deep valley was behind it. This villa was built along the formation of the mountain with cliffs everywhere. If she was to follow this tree down, through a narrow valley, the banquet hall would be across from it.

With the banquet hall’s location and design, it would be impossible to climb down from the cliff but the guest rooms were built on the protruding cliff above the banquet hall, connected to this side of the mountain beam. It’s very possible to climb this part, and eavesdrop.

No guards could be placed there and the cliff is steep and slippery. With fierce wind blowing between the two mountains, the smallest slip would cause one to fall. If one’s presence was discovered, it wouldn’t take much effort at all for the guards stationed across to kill the intruder.

Moreover, near the wall of the banquet hall, there are lights all over. Whoever tries to approach, can be seen at a glance.

Feng Zhi Wei only hesitated for a split second.

Then, as light as a feather, she floated down from the tree, slid straight to the bottom, and her body was already on the cliff.

Latching onto the cliff with one hand, Feng Zhi Wei pulled out a diamond-shaped emerald from her hair with the other hand and pressed down hard with her finger. The outer layer of fake emerald cracked open, revealing a small shining dagger.

Holding the dagger in her mouth, she made her way down until she reached about the cliff’s halfway point where there was a gap in the mountain, about ten feet in distance. If she crosses the gap, then she can go from the back of the cliff to the guest rooms, the same rooms she had snuck away from not too long ago.

Of course this just sounds easy in theory but not an easy task to accomplish in reality. A lamp on the cliff was spinning in the wind with someone standing guard in front of it.

Feng Zhi Wei pondered for a while. It’s easy to extinguish the lamp, but it would inevitably alert the guards. What’s the best way to do this?

A gust of wind suddenly swirled up under the cliff.

Feng Zhi Wei immediately raised her hand, and a branch shot through the air, hitting the chain on the lantern. It didn’t break the chain but had enough force to shake the lantern violently, shaking and rotating it, causing the candle flame to flicker as if it was about to go out.

The two guards guarding the lamp had received orders that the lantern was to not go out for even an instant. Seeing the lantern trembling violently, they quickly rushed forward to protect it. One of the guards laughed, “The wind is so strong tonight. Normally, the wind can’t move this lantern.” The other guard replied, “I am afraid it’s going to go out, let’s pull it up first to protect it.”

The two leaned forward and pulled the lantern on the cliff up to them.

When their bodies turned and the light dimmed, Feng Zhi Wei tugged on a vine and swang her body through the air like lightning flashing across the sky.

In the brief moments of the lantern dimmed and brightened again…

She is already pressed against the cliff on the opposite side.

The two guards on the cliff were holding the lantern, waiting for the gust of wind to pass. One of them suddenly poked his head out, looked down the cliff, and said, “Huh, I think I just saw a shadow flashing by?”

“Did you imagine it?” The other guard laughed, “Who would be so suicidal and dare to climb up from down there?”

“Me.”

The clear and nonchalant answer startled the men and sent a shudder through their bodies. They spun around in unison but could see nothing. The thought of “mountain spirit ghosts!” instantly flashed through their minds but before that thought was finished, they suddenly felt a tightening and a coldness in their throats.

Like a handful of snow in the winter, suddenly shoved into their throat.

Taking away all the heat of a lifetime.

The two covered their throat and made a gurgling sound. Feng Zhi Wei, who was standing behind them, coldly and carefully grabbed their collars to prevent the bodies from falling to the ground.

She then quickly took off the outer robe of the thinner guard and put it on herself. Positioning the two corpses to look like they were sitting in front of the cliffside lantern, she adjusted the lantern until the strong penetrating light reflected on the cliff above, intersecting with the searching light from above, causing the originally clear light to blur.

Darkness under the light.

Feng Zhi Wei had originally not planned on taking the risk of ascending the cliff to kill the guards, but she changed her mind when she saw the lantern.

If lighting is used incorrectly, then nothing will be illuminated.

This light is placed on a prominent protruding cliff in the middle of the mountain. There is only room for two or three people. Normally, guards are let down by baskets, so even if she killed the guards here, no one would notice for a while.

Feng Zhi Wei continued to climb the mountain ridge. Under the bright intersecting lights, the cliffside looked like it was basking in a white mist or a green smoke going straight up.

She quickly landed on the cliff where the guest rooms are located. This area is also well guarded, unfortunately, they only guard the front side since there is no way to guard the back cliffside.

She found the room she was in previously. The maid was still sitting outside of the room dozing off. The blanket roll she had made was still there, looking as if a person was sleeping peacefully in bed. Feng Zhi Wei quickly went over, tore the sheets into long strips, and connected them together. She tied the makeshift rope to the foot of the heavy bed, tested it and was glad that she was not fat. She then tied her hair tightly, tied the rope around her right ankle, pushed open the back window, flipped her body out of it, and let her body drop.
