While they have gained much this night but it’s too dangerous to explore any further, they must think of a way to leave quickly. Suddenly, strange music started in the banquet hall, and a line of female dancers came twirling in. All the dancers were dressed in black, their makeup was cool and aloof yet their snow-white chest, abdomen, and calves were all exposed. The golden bells on their feet are ringing, accompanying the strange and provocative music, sometimes fast sometimes slow. Snow-white skin, long black hair, vibrant red lips, aloof yet alluring, causing everyone to feel their stomach tighten.

The expressions on the female guests’ faces were no longer good with some of them looking tired. Feng Zhi Wei knew that no business would be discussed as long as there were women around, which meant the place would probably be cleared soon.

Looking mesmerized, Ning Yi’s stared without blinking at the female dancers which of course meant Feng Zhi Wei had to act jealous, rolled her dramatically at him, and pinched him under the table. Hearing the chuckles from an official seated next to him, Ning Yi shook his hand and whispered angrily, “What are you doing?!” He pushed her body away but then chuckled softly in her ear, “These women are all very droopy, they are not as tight as you.”

Feng Zhi Wei stared blankly for a moment before realizing what the jerk had just said. In fury, she let out a big smile, reached out her hand, forming it into the shape of a tiger’s claw, and used it to pinch, twist, and turn. A certain someone’s waist, after being treated like a lump of dough, will probably be purple and black for a while.

Ning Yi took a sharp intake of breath, poured in a mouthful of wine, and muttered, “Truly, the heart of a woman is the most poisonous…”

Suddenly, Second Prince came walking up to them with the wine goblet in hand and said with a smile, “I heard that Madam Huang suffered a fright today, let me offer my apology.”

The two of them promptly stood up and thanked him profusely. Feng Zhi Wei looked at the huge wine goblet on a platter held by the waiter standing behind Second Prince and sneered inwardly. It seems Madam Huang will need to be drunk even if she is not.

After drinking the wine from Second Prince, Feng Zhi Wei stared blankly into space and looked drunk while thinking inwardly that with Official Huang being such an inconsequential official, there is probably no place for him once all the bigwigs start discussing business, so Second Prince will probably use her drunkenness as an excuse to send both of them away and that would give them the opportunity to figure out a way to get out.

Who knew, instead of finding an excuse to send them away, Second Prince poured another glass and said to Ning Yi with a smile, “I am grateful to Official Huang’s much effort on The Lulin case. It must have taken a lot of work. I am grateful so here is a toast to you.”

Feng Zhi Wei was taken aback. Surprised by Second Prince’s words, she wonders if there was some hidden information they did not know about the Lulin case. When the two of them were cramming on all of Huang couple’s information in the carriage, they focused on their backgrounds and life experiences but didn’t pay too much information to a case that had already been handed over to the Imperial Justice. Now that Second Prince has brought the matter up, how is Ning Yi supposed to answer?

But Ning Yi just smiled and said, “If it’s Your Highness’ matter, then it’s mine as well. A little trouble is not worth mentioning. Even if I had to lose my head for Your Highness, it is still worth it.”

“Good, good, my good man!” Second Prince patted him on the shoulder, his expression was full of warmth towards Ning Yi as he said in a low voice, “Official Huang, in a bit, stay behind. I still need to discuss that case with you some more.”

Ning Yi agreed with a smile. Second Prince let out a belly laugh and left.

Propping her head on her hand to keep up her drunken pretence, Feng Zhi Wei asked him sharply, “You know the inside information on this case?”

Ning Yi sneered, “This case only arrived at the Imperial Justice today, so how would I know? Especially since it was a deal between Second and Official Huang, then how would others know about it?”

“Second Prince is going to talk to you about this in just a bit, what if you can’t match his words?” Feng Zhi Wei frowns.

“We can only take it one step at a time.” Ning Yi replied, “I am guessing this case is not simple. It might be yet another trap meant for either you or me. It’s impossible to withdraw at this point, I’ll just improvise as I go… Wei, use drunkness as an excuse to go rest right away and figure out a way to leave. You just need to walk to the hole where we came out from. Ning Cheng and others will be there waiting to meet you.”

Hearing the “Wei”, Feng Zhi Wei was dazed for a moment. Thinking this seemed to be the first time Ning Yi had called her by that, she then quickly asked, “What about you?”

Ning Yi smiled, his eyes sparkling as he gently squeezed her hand and said softly, “Don’t worry, Second is no match against me.”

Feng Zhi Wei stared at him, slowly drank a glass of wine, and was silent for a while before she finally said, “Alright.”

Holding a hand to her head, she stood up as if she was tipsy and asked Second Prince for his forgiveness (for needing to leave). Excused immediately by Second Prince, Feng Zhi Wei followed the maid and memorized the route all the way to the guest room in the back courtyard. She then quietly rendered the maid unconscious, changed into her clothes, and under the cover of the night, made her way to the entrance of the cave without any problems.

There are a few guards stationed out of sight around the cave but having already figured out the numbers of guards and their location when she arrived, Feng Zhi Wei didn’t think they would pose too much of a problem.

The best time to leave is right now– the bigwigs are gathered in the hall discussing important matters, which means most of the guards are also stationed there to protect them…including the guards brought by the bigwigs. The guards here won’t be able to stop her, so as long as she can dodge the guards and enter the cave, she will be able to leave here for good.

It’s difficult to predict what else will happen tonight. The guests in this villa tonight are too important. Once Second Prince finds out something is wrong, he will do whatever it takes to eliminate the danger. If she doesn’t leave now, one wrong move and she will stay here…forever.

The chilling mountain wind came sweeping in, toying with her wet long hair. Feng Zhi Wei stood behind a mountain wall, about ten feet away from the cave entrance.

At this moment.

Forward is safety and freedom.

Behind is danger and…Ning Yi.

She is in the middle.

Feng Zhi Wei hesitated only for an instant and then she ran forward three quick steps. With a flick of a finger, something shot out and fell on the vine-covered entrance, causing an echo in the deep cave.

“Who’s there!”

A shout came immediately, followed by figures coming from all directions in the night, heading straight for the cave entrance.

The guards have been alerted, all their attention turned to the entrance. Feng Zhi Wei backed away without any hesitation.

Her forward body made a swift reversal on the spot. With one tap of her foot, she had already backed up three feet in a blink of an eye. With another turn of her body, she had already left the entrance.

While all the guards were focused on the entrance, she was charging backward. In this most chaotic moment, the guards of the front villa are charging towards the entrance but the guards of the back villa have yet to receive the news. Without the need to worry too much about the guards, she is running through this gap, with the fastest speed.

When she was about two courtyards away from the banquet hall, she thought for a moment, stopped, and leaned down.

Sure enough, as soon as she lowered her body, there came the sounds of clothing slicing through the wind above her head. The silver robe of the visitor drew a wide arc in the dark sky, appearing like a wisp of cold moonlight from a distance, passing over her head.

The commander of the Golden Feather Guard.
