She froze as if lightning had just passed through her body.

In the darkness, Jin Siyu stood at the far side, shutting the windows one by one. The study is lined with a long role of windows, he closed them one by one, the constant sound of windows closing and bolts falling drowned out the slight noises.

By the daybed in the darkness, the soft warm lips pressed against her deformed fingers, like the wind with rain, or the crying clouds, coming from afar, everywhere it passed, it left its trace.

Her eyes widen, appearing a bit dazed. Her martial art is useless right now, nor is her eyesight as good as before. The only thing she can see is a vague shadow half kneeling in front of her.  (If she still had her internal energy then her senses would be much sharper.)

She stared at the shadow, the expression in her eyes changing rapidly like the midnight tide, silently surging under the moon.

The wind with hidden rain brushed past her fingers and suddenly reached the corner of her lips.

Seemingly startled out of a dream when the presence pressed close to her, she subconsciously moved away but he seemed to have predicated her move and his lips were waiting in the most accurate position.

Without any hesitation, he pressed forward and bit her hard.

On the lips.

Encircling her lips between his teeth, sucking gently, her fragrance penetrated right into his heart. Silently parting the blockade, he dove straight in without waiting for an invitation, his agile tongue finally tasted her long-lost sweetness.

She didn’t expect at all he would be so brazen that he would dare to forcefully kiss her at such a time and such a place, almost right in front of Jin Siyu. So stunned was she that she momentarily even forgot to be amazed, all she could feel was her mind suddenly going blank. Before she could come to her senses, he has already swept in and claimed everything as his.

In the dark, their lips intertwined, the most intimate contact at the most inopportune time, the forbidden excitement of pleasure caused her face to turn red instantly. She wanted to push him away but her hand injury has not healed yet. She wanted to struggle but that would cause the daybed to creak with noise and alarm Jin Siyu so she could only stay frozen in place.  A shiver gradually came over her, like falling flower petals. Her trembling caused the kiss to deepen. In the darkness they could hear the violent beating of each other’s hearts, thumping in their heads, sending vibrating ripples like a tsunami wave striking the pure white corals, shattering them. She too felt like she had been shattered. Electric shocks seemed to be passing through every single vein in her body, shaking her, shattering her until she turned into ashes, scattering into the four winds.

It was as soft as spring water with infinite indulgence, but not a slightest gasp or sound escaped. No sound at all from either of them. It was so eerily quiet, silent enough to frighten the heart. In the most unlikely situation, in the most dangerous place- a kiss.

The moment felt extremely long, like crossing through eternity but in reality, it was extremely short, like a spark.

Jin Siyu has reached the last long window.

Her eyes suddenly welled up with tears.

Glistening.

Like the first hexagon flower-like snowflake, drifting down in a nameless snowstorm.

Bone-chilling cold.

In silence, he suddenly moved away. He could no longer delay it. She seemed determined to not take the risk and leave with him. He also felt that the time is not right, so he could only be the first to enter into the secret passage behind the bookshelf.

They found the secret passage quite a while ago but haven’t dared to try it since they haven’t been able to figure out if the passage will lead to an exit or a trap.

He didn’t come to this city and this manor alone. Even if Jin Siyu has traps waiting at every inch of this place, he can still get out of here. But if she refuses to cooperate or if she didn’t have amnesia and is filled with grievances inside, then it could cause a lot of people to die.

In his gut, he knows it is better to forcefully break out of here because the secret passage is where the real danger lies. Yet when he touched her, he knew in his heart that if he broke out of here then everything they have done thus far would be for naught, it would make it more difficult for Helian and Zong Chen to rescue her.

For once, he wants to be less selfish.

This long journey has been so lonely and cold, like the deep snow in a never-ending night. Yet, for once in his life,  he could at least risk his life for someone. (Long journey= life)

He moved his lips away reluctantly yet decidedly, stepping back towards the back of the bookshelf.

She suddenly struck out like lightning!

In the darkness her elbow struck out, it lacked the power of her internal energy but the angle was precise with the perfect measured of strength. Exhausting all of her strength, she slammed her elbow right into the side of his forehead!

He never imagined she would suddenly attack after what just happened between them. The only thing he felt was a thud on the head, sparks appearing in his eyes before the world went completely dark.

He fell without a sound.

Then she started screaming.

The scream was long and shrill, full of terror, piercing the dark silence like a steel wire.

A bit on the shorter side this week…but I feel when you get a kiss to build a dream on…the length is not too important. Actually, this was just too good of a cliffhanger to miss.

Anyhow, this is one scene I really wish the drama would’ve used. I could forgive the drama for skipping and changing a lot of things but to skip over a kiss such as this?!
