Character Intro:
Guan Pipi
An ordinary girl who only ever wanted an ordinary blissful love with her boyfriend of many years, our heroine Guan Pipi could hardly wait to finally be able to move to America with her boyfriend for his graduate degree. Keenly aware of her own bland existence compare to her elite boyfriend and her best friend, the last thing Pipi expect is for anything or anyone extraordinary to happen to her.

Surprised and frankly very scared when our hero barges into her life then reveal that he is an alien (yap, as in from space) fox that has loved her for 1000 years, Pipi’s first instinct is to run away as fast as humanly possible. Still holding onto her dream that she will live happily ever after with her childhood sweetheart, our heroine wants nothing to do with our hero …but what is a girl to do when dreams of crazy past lives keep popping up and she starts to find her heart softening at the sight of our hero.

Helan Jingting
The heir to the Fox clan (the race that was forced to relocate to Earth after their planet could no longer sustain life), Jingting was born with an eye disease that makes him blind during the day. Faithfully waiting to find our heroine in each of her reincarnations through the long 1000 years he has lived, our hero had assumed his wife/our heroine would just fall in love with him at first sight…like she did in all her past lives. Unfortunately for our hero who never needed to learn the skills of wooing a woman, Pipi is now a modern woman…a woman who promptly told him that she already has a man so he needs to disappear from her life.

Swallowing the bitter pill that his good looks, great body, extreme wealth, intelligence, superpowers and elegance are obviously not going to cut it this time around, our hero now has to figure out what it will take to win Pipi’s heart.

Ninja’s First Impression:

A big “Thank You!” to the reader who recommended that I give this one another chance. I had liked the first episode but thought the show would be too over the top for my taste. However, upon a second look, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it and what I was afraid would be over the top humor had instead become well placed comedic timing.

In fact, I think the further along we are in the show the more subtle the humor became but I find those moments even more amusing for some reason.

Perhaps due to the short episode count, the pacing of the story is quite fast and the storyline doesn’t go off on too many tangents… or at least they are relatively painless ones. We will get into some fox clan stuff and there is even a reporter who has sniffed out a big story, but the writer has been wise in keeping those VERY short so just before I have time to get impatient, the focus is right back on our two leads.

Actually, now I think of it, there is the unlikely love triangle between our heroine’s friend and our hero’s two trusty friends but this particular secondary plot line is so cute that I  enjoy it almost as much as the main love line.

Speaking of the main love line, both of our leads are doing an excellent job. Victoria Song and Huang Jingyu have somehow managed to have super sizzling chemistry yet still give off a warm tender vibe of lovers who have been together for a long time. Talk about achieving the impossible!

Viki is subbing this one so definitely go check it out!
