Miss Hammurabi (Korean Drama, New)
Kim Myung Soo (L) plays a judge who ends up sharing an office with our heroine, a newbie judge who just happens to be his high school crush. Unable to forget that quiet and reserved girl he knew back in his youth, our hero is stunned when our heroine shows up again…with a personality that is nothing like the introvert girl he remembered. There is obviously going to be romance between our two leads, but Miss Hammurabi is still firstly a criminal justice story about how two young judges will mature into their profession.

I liked the chemistry between our two leads but I am not so sure about the criminal justice part since I feel like I’ve watched quite a few shows along the similar line in the last bit. Still, I am pretty intrigued by the heroine’s drastic change in personality so I might check back on this one.
About Time (Korean Drama, New)
I was charmed by Lee Sang Yoon in his last two dramas (Whisper, On The Way To The Airport) so I was pretty excited to see him in this one. Lee Sang Kyung (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo) plays our heroine who is cursed/blessed with the ability to see a time clock on everyone, including herself. The time counts down the person’s remaining time alive and from sad past experiences, our heroine has learned that nothing she can do could change the clock. With only 100 days left on her own clock, our heroine is resigned to her impending death…that is until she meets our hero who for some reason can stop her time clock whenever she is with him.

I have to admit thanks to the tearjerker parts of About Time’s first episode, this is the first drama I have watched that made me wonder “What am I doing wasting time watching a show?! I should go hug my family!” Thankfully, I got over that shocking sentiment pretty soon once our two leads meet. This one looks pretty fun. Granted, I am a bit nervous about the whole 100 days thing but I am hoping that’s just a way to get our two leads together.
The Undatables (Korean Drama, New)

Hwang Jung Eum and Namkoong Min’s new romantic comedy that follows the unlikely romance between our hero, a relationship expert who doesn’t believe in love and our heroine, a woman who is unlucky in love but is certain her prince charming will show up one day.

Hwang Jung Eum is usually pretty sharp when it comes to picking her projects but I am not feeling this one right off the bat. However, the last few minutes of episode one was so hilarious that I am thinking I shouldn’t be in such a hurry to write this one off just yet.
The Taoism Grandmaster (Chinese Drama, New)

With the long predicated doom of the world looming, the search has become desperate for the Taoist Grandmaster who according to the prophecy is the only one that is worthy to wear the heavenly armor and save the world. Our hero (the Taoist Grandmaster everyone is searching for) with the friends he will gather along the way, will embark on a journey of destiny to avoid the impending doom of humanity. The story sounds like your standard fantasy Wuxia but predictability in a Wuxia is not a bad thing at all since who doesn’t like to see a hero’s journey from an ordinary nobody to the one that triumph over all.

This one is a web drama but it looks like there are some fans trying to get Viki to license it so hopefully that will go through.
The Ex Man (Taiwanese Drama, New)
For some reason I walked into this one expecting it to be a comedy but it was actually more on the serious side…at least for now. It has been 10 years since the breakup with her high school sweetheart (Blue Lan), our heroine (Rainie Yang) thought she has long moved on from that relationship until she starts to see her ex-boyfriend’s “spirit” after she had  a car accident on the day our hero also disappeared in the sea. It is a mystery at this point if our hero actually died (I sure hope not!) since the spirit our heroine is seeing is a young hero back in their dating days.

It is too early to call on this one yet but I think the show does have potential…as long as our hero is still alive!
