Live (Korean Drama, New)

tvN’s new drama that follows a group of police officers at a precinct as they try to do the best they can to serve the everyday common people. Lee Kwang Soo is a familiar face in K-dramas but usually as a secondary character so it is really nice to see him finally getting a lead role. A warning though, the first half of episode one of Live is pretty depressing but it does get better after that.

The Great Seducer (Korean Drama, New)

A drama adaptation of the French novel Les Liasions and/or a remake of Cruel Intentions (1999 with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Reese Witherspoon). The three different titles give a pretty good summary of the story. In short, a group of rich jerks decides to make a game of seeing who they can manipulate through seduction.

I am planning on checking this one out…but I don’t think I will follow it unless it looks like the scriptwriter has made a lot of changes to the story since neither the novel or the movie ended well.

Blade Attacking (Chinese Drama)

This one is a Chinese web drama about our leads as members of an elite police force that are tasked with the dangerous mission of combating terrorist groups. I haven’t check this one out yet…with so many dramas to catch up on I don’t see myself doing it either.

Happiness Chocolate (Chinese Drama, New)

Synopsis: The owner operator of her family’s chocolate store, our plucky heroine is certain that through her hard work she will one day be able to pay off her family’s debt. Meeting our down on his luck chaebol hero by chance, our heroine will finally embark on a path of finding out what her recurring dream (where a mysterious man riding on a white horse always rescues her) means.
This one looks like a small production with new faces…normally I would still give it a chance, but with so many great shows out right now and the first episode on the bland side, I am passing on it.
Meet Me @1006
Apparently, third time is the charm. Meet Me @1006 is the third collaboration for Lego Li and Nikki Hsieh. Their last film together was Love @ Seventeen (2016) and their first one was a small drama they did 11 years ago that neither could even remember much about anymore.
I will be writing a first impression post on this one for Monday.
