Feng Zhi Wei thought the pampered Gu Zhi Xiao was bound to cry but the child didn’t let out a sound. She wiped clean the smelly water from her face, bit her lips, and huddled herself inside the bucket with big wide eyes. It seemed that she understood very clearly that her father was in danger and that she couldn’t help, so she didn’t let herself cry or fuss to become a burden.

Feng Zhi Wei’s heart sank– Gu Nan Yi had always carried his Gu Zhi Xiao with him when he fought. No matter when or where he is always confident that he can protect Gu Zhi Xiao, but now, he has set her down.

Sure enough, those people started to form a formation and started to close in on Gu Nan Yi whose movements have visibly slowed a bit. It wasn’t an option for him to fight blindfolded– the extremely noisy sound from the musical instruments had covered up any sounds of movements.

After a dozen moves, there was a faint scoffing sound and a piece of blue sleeve floated to the ground. Second Prince who was watching the battle from a distance stood up excitedly– this was the first time anyone could get so close to Gu Nan Yi. It’s a piece of sleeve now, then the next time it could be a hand!

Once Gu Nan Yi is eliminated, then no one here will have any hope of escaping with their life!

The sleeve fell slowly and was caught by Gu Zhi Xiao who was in the bucket. The little girl stared blankly at the sleeve for a long bit then suddenly grabbed the basket of shrimps beside her and threw it at a man holding the suona instrument. The man had not expected such a small child would dare to attack, so when he saw something white suddenly coming toward him, he assumed it was some deadly weapon and jumped back in a hurry. The man was too flustered to notice where he was jumping back to and ended up right in Ning Yi’s proximity. Without saying a word, Ning Yi gave him a slash as an afterthought. The man hurriedly used his instrument to block the attack, promptly breaking his suona in half. The ear-splitting screeching sound came to an abrupt end, instantly bringing some relief to their ears.

Feng Zhi Wei also saw the falling sleeve and immediately slashed one of her opponents with her sword. Just as she was about to join the group fight someone abruptly grabbed her shoulder. Ning Yi dragged her back and said, “Don’t join the group fight. Master Gu cares about you so your joining will only distract him more.”

Feng Zhi Wei was silent for a bit and had to admit that Ning Yi was right. She was too worried and had lost her head for a moment.

She bit her lips and looked at the women who looked like dead leaf butterflies. She suddenly moved her shoulder to get out from under Ning Yi’s hand, grabbed a bucket next to her, and flipped over the side of the boat.

Startled, Ning Yi raised his hand to grab her but she had already run past his reach and headed straight for the bottom of the boat. Immediately, a dozen men in black stood up from the water, each holding shining hooks in their hands. Already prepared for them, Feng Zhi Wei raised her leg in mid-air, and a dagger popped out from the tip of her boot. Her leg drew a smooth semicircle in mid-air, sending all the hooks into the water with a clanging sound. The men stood in the water stunned but she had already stepped on those fallen long hooks and crossed the hull of the ship without another backward glance, heading straight for the beach ahead.

Before anyone could figure out what she was going to do, Feng Zhi Wei had already landed in the tidal flats, bent down, and scooped a bucket full of mud. Holding a bucketful of mud, Feng Zhi Wei hurried back at full speed. In an instant, she was back where she was previously and before she even gained a firm footing, she had already tossed the bucketful of mud onto the group of women.

With a ploop, the mud landed on the bodies of the women, immediately covering up the color of the withered leaf butterfly that had made Gu Nan Yi uncomfortable.  Gu Zhi Wei was just immersed in the happiness that her plan worked when the women giggled and twirled their bodies in a circle. Much to Feng Zhi Wei’s fury, the mud couldn’t stay on the slippery fabric and ended up sliding down to the deck floor, leaving the annoying color as bright as it was before.

“Looks like they are too idle!” Watching coldly from the side, Second Prince sneered and gave a wave of his hand, “Get rid of them!”

The elite fighters he brought moved in unison. In the next instant, Feng Zhi Wei, Ning Yi, and their few guards were surrounded. A chaotic fighting ensued. The most elite fighters were blocked by Gu Nan Yi alone, while everyone else was scattered in various small clusters of fighting. There were constant shouts of anger and blood being splattered. In the midst of these, were those ugly colors and the mind-piercing sickening sounds that make one want to vomit. Feng Zhi Wei’s sword attacked, picked, and deflected. Clutters of blood bloomed like dahlias, causing Feng Zhi Wei to feel like she was in the middle of some chaotic play where the actors were all moving in confusion, acting like others, unable to be themselves.

Her opponents were a group of elite black-clothes men. Probably the masters of the martial arts world who had been paid a lot of money by Second Prince. They were all very powerful and full of energy, with tricky and strange moves. They wouldn’t be her match one-on-one but as a group, they could certainly do some harm to her. Feng Zhi Wei is a woman after all so after a while, she started to feel her strength giving out. She just kicked one down and before she could take a breath, a person on the other side jumped and actually shot out a knife from his crotch.

The knife came at her lower body. Feng Zhi Wei reacted quickly and fell backward but was blocked by a person behind her– the deck was too crowded.

The person blocking her slowed her down. Feng Zhi Wei’s heart sank as she watched the knife headed for her legs. All the weapons were drenched with poison. If she was hit by the dagger, then it wouldn’t just take her legs but her very life. At this point, Ning Yi had been forced by more than a dozen people to the other side of the ship. Ning Cheng was desperately fighting to open a bloody path to him. Both of them had their backs to her, it was impossible for them to see the danger she was in. As for Gu Nan Yi, it was all he could do to hold off the attacks from the eight elite fights. There is no one she could count on for help at this moment.

Finally tasting the feeling of despair in that moment, the first words that came to mind were actually “unfulfilled ambitions.” Before a bitter wry smile could appear on her lips, she suddenly felt the blockage behind her disappear. Her already half-leaning body immediately fell backward. What followed was a flash of a red and white light, then a shower of blood splashed above her head. Something fell with a clunking sound, hitting her on the abdomen. She grabbed it and it was none other than the knife that was about to cut off her leg a moment ago.

In the chaos she didn’t have time to take a closer look at the knife. She rolled over and looked up, just in time to see Gu Nan Yi’s jade sword flying through the air like a meteor– just now, he had ignored his own perilous situation and saved Feng Zhi Wei.

And this distraction was all it took for a sharp blue blade to pop out and head straight for his back!

At this moment, Gu Nan Yi was distracted, his back exposed to his enemy with his body half-leaning. It was utterly impossible he would be able to protect himself.

Feng Zhi Wei was still on the ground so it was too late for her to jump up to block that dagger!
