She found the room she was in previously. The maid was still sitting outside of the room dozing off. The blanket roll she had made was still there, looking as if a person was sleeping peacefully in bed. Feng Zhi Wei quickly went over, tore the sheets into long strips, and connected them together. She tied the makeshift rope to the foot of the heavy bed, tested it, and was glad she was not fat. She then tied her hair tightly, tied the rope around her right ankle, pushed open the back window, flipped her body out of it, and let her body drop.

Her feather-like figure flipped in midair forming a graceful arc, like a mysterious flower blooming in the dark night. The lights from the cliff bottom intertwined, forming a moon-white hazy fog as that flower leisurely bloomed in the starlight.

With her eyes closed, Feng Zhi Wei thought about the layout of the banquet hall. Giving a light tap with her toe, she controlled the length of the rope as she descended, stopping at a certain point.

Her back slid silently on the cliff wall, the night dew soaking into her clothes and hair.

Although this sort of inverted posture is very dangerous and vulnerable, but it is still better than having both hands and feet climbing on the rocky surface. At least this way, other than one leg, the rest of her body is free.

From the entrance to this moment, things had gone quite smoothly but if something had gone wrong at any point, then it was certain death for her. It was only until now, her heart that had been tightened on high alert could finally relax a bit.

Because she heard Ning Yi’s voice.

“…Your Highness can rest assured, “ Ning Yi seem to be proclaiming his loyalty, “…this matter, the heaven knows, the earth knows, you know and I know, but no one else would. Even my wife, would not hear a word about it in my sleep…”

Feng Zhi Wei listened quietly and a hint of smile appeared at the corner of her lips. Indeed, she won’t hear a word of his sleep-talking since they don’t even sleep in the same bed.

The scene at the hot spring suddenly flashed across her mind, causing a red blush to creep up on her face. Feng Zhi Wei quickly shook off the picture in her mind and pressed her slightly burning hot cheeks on the cold cliff wall.

Ning Yi this guy has worked hard. He obviously had no clue what was going on but was able to hold his end of the conversation with Second Prince.

“Thank to you, Zhiqiu.” Second Prince seemed to let out a sigh, “…It was just some minor activities from my men over there but who would’ve thought the local magistrate would turn it into some insurrection attempt. We had to rely on you to change a few testimonies and take care of a few key figures…over at the imperial justice…there won’t be any problems?”

“Your Highness don’t have to worry at all.” Ning Yi seemed to be patting his chest, his words and tone were certain.

Second Prince seemed to be chuckling in a low voice.

*PA*

A vague sound came.

“Ah…….”

Ning Yi let out a surprised yell.

On the cliff wall, Feng Zhi Wei’s heart jumped.

“Your Highness…Your Highness…you….” Ning Yi’s voice came fuzzily, he seemed to be panting.

Feng Zhi Wei’s fingers were dug into the cliff wall, her face was expressionless but she lowered herself again until she was close to the window by the secret room of the banquet hall.

The window was open, and through a little light above the window lattice, she could see the shadow of a person reflected on the wall.

Second Prince’s sneering laugh could vaguely be heard, as he stepped forward while Ning Yi, with a hand covering his chest, retreated step by step.

“Me? What about me?” Second Prince pointed at Ning Yi and sneered, “I haven’t asked you, who are you working for?”

Feng Zhi Wei’s eyes flashed.

“Your Highness…what do you mean by that…” Ning Yi’s panicked voice came.

“By whose order did you come here tonight?” Second Prince took a step forward, “Why did you go to the West Pool and how did you end up at East Pool from the West Pool? How did you know how to open the secret door? Where did you go and what did you do?”

He found out…after all.

Feng Zhi Wei narrowed her eyes and thought that the villa must have other methods to relay information. Judging by the questions, Second Prince suspects that Official Huang is working for someone else but does not doubt Official Huang’s identity.

“Your subordinate…don’t understand…Your Highness’ meaning…” Ning Yi was forced by the Second Prince to retreat until he was backed against the window.

“You don’t have to understand.” Second Prince sneered, “I don’t want to understand you either, since without this incident, you were destined to die anyway…”

“Ah…..”

Accompanied by a low scream, the window was abruptly slammed open and a figure fell out of it.

A figure fell down.

A figure falling down the cliff with his head down.

But someone swung down like the wind, and stretched out her hand like lightning.

In mid-air, the two hands clenched tightly together.

Ning Yi whose foot was still hooked to the side of the window raised his head to see the smiling face hanging upside down from the cliff above.

That face, swooped down in the backdrop of the starry moonlight and boundless sky, instantly barged into his eyes. At that moment, all the starlights in the sky and the fog in the mountain, including his whole body, seemed to be condensed into those misty eyes.

She was waiting here for him.

His eyes lit up with infinite light in that instant. There was surprise, worry and all kinds of unspeakable complex emotions that were only for her to read when their eyes met.

Then he also smiled, and let go of the foot that was hooked on the window.

He had originally planned to use the Second Prince as an excuse to fake his death. The tip of his foot had been hooked to the window the whole time but now, he let go without hesitation.

At this moment, he only has one hand in her hand.

If she was to let go, then he would fall into the deep abyss with no chance of survival.

He finally gave himself to her in this moment.

His foot let go, his body leaned, Feng Zhi Wei felt a sudden weight in her hand, and the silk rope fell down a bit more.

For a second, something flashed across her misty eyes.

Ning Yi had his head raised the whole time with his eyes on her. The expression in her eyes made his heart tighten.

But then she returned to normal the next instant, her hand tightened and held onto his hand even more firmly.

Ten fingers clasped together, clenched firmly. Feng Zhi Wei’s hand and Ning Yi’s waist exerted force at the same time, flipping their body over until they were clinging tightly to the silk rope.

When he flipped over, Ning Yi gave the cliff wall a kick, kicking down a piece of cliff rock that was hanging on loosely.

The rock fell rumbling down, making an echoing sound in the deep abyss that sounded just like a person falling.

With a squeak, the window opened wide, Second Prince poked his head out and looked down with some regret. Below was a vast sea of clouds, with nothing to see.

He stared downward at the cliff with regret and muttered, “This guy is so useless. I just wanted to scare him first to figure out who his master is before I killed him, but he was so scared that he lost his footing…such a shame I didn’t get anything out of him.”

He didn’t look up at all. He pulled his head back and slammed the window shut.

The two people hugging tightly together on the cliff wall, curled their lips and smiled at the same time.

Feng Zhi Wei mouthed a question to Ning Yi, “Are you all right?”

Ning Yi didn’t answer but stared at her tenderly. A poignant tenderness is blooming in his usual cold and calm eyes, full of starlight, causing the very moon to be drunk.
