Synopsis: Lin Geng Xin plays a successful CEO of an investment firm whose life would be great if his secretary of three years would stop dreaming of becoming an investment CEO herself one day. Refusing to let everyone around her, including her own boss, convince her that she is born to be her boss’ perfect secretary and should just be happy with her current career path, our heroine resolutely hands in her resignation. Convinced at first that his ex-secretary will eventually come back to him after a detour into the cruel scary world, our hero is surprised when he realizes that his little secretary has not only left him for good but is actually flourishing in her own way. Quite fed up with her extremely hard to please ex-boss, our heroine is equally surprised when our hero ends up becoming a mentor of sorts to her as she fights for her dream.
First Impression: I have a good feeling about this one…even if I have to take a few deep breaths in the first few episodes when it comes to our hero’s terrible treatment of our heroine. I mean, some of it could outright be called emotional abuse. However, the saving grace is that our heroine is no timid wallflower and is not afraid to blow up on our hero whenever she had enough of him. If one could get over the urge to ducktape our hero’s mouth every time he speaks to our heroine (at least in the first couple of episodes), the two leads’ relationship is actually quite cute and I am really looking forward to how their relationship would evolve once the romance starts.
Recommend? Yes! As much as I complained about the hero, Lin Geng Xin is actually doing a great job making his character quite charming.
