On that day in the city of Pucheng, some people sat in carriages, and some squatted under a veranda. They gathered from the north and the south for one person, uncaring of the hardship of sleeping and eating out in the elements. Yet, the person who caused them to sleep and eat out in the elements is currently sleeping in a luxurious house, on a warm bed.

The beautiful manor is in the east of the city with exquisitely carved beams and elegant architecture. The manor belonged to the wealthiest family of Pucheng but is now being used by Prince An as his temporary palace.

A tall figure crossed through beaded curtains as servants and maids bowed their heads and quickly backed away.

The figure went straight to the backyard, twisting and turning, past a secret door behind some hanging flowers, and finally stopped in front of a door.

“How is it?” Before he even pushed open the door, he asked the female physician in a deep voice.

The woman replied in a hushed voice “Should wake up soon but don’t know what the condition will be…”

The man’s expression turned more solemn and thinking for a bit finally said “You can leave. Go take a look at the other one. Be mindful, don’t let anything go amiss.”

The female physician leaves while the man softly stepped into the room.

A tranquilizing incense burning in the room, on top of the soft quilt lays a person who is deep in slumber. The quilt was pulled right up to the person’s chin, revealing a beautiful delicate small face.

The skin on the face is delicate and smooth, slightly pale as if it hasn’t seen light for long periods of time. On both cheeks and temples, there are small scratches. On the person’s forehead, there is a crescent-shaped scar that is starting to heal. On such an exquisite face, the scar, instead of making it hideous added some charm to it. However, there is a faint red mark between the brows on the face, as if there are bruises laying right under the skin.

She breathed evenly, seemingly as if she is in a sweet and worry-free slumber.

The man watched her for a long time, thinking back to the fiery night back at camp. That unidentified woman who suddenly jumped out was probably a Tian Sheng soldier. She entered into the army in a woman’s body but was braver than men. That night, she was besieged by more than ten thousand men but her expression remained unchanged. At the foot of Baitou cliff, she killed countless men, she was so tired that she vomited blood but she just smiled. Within her soft gentle eyes was the kind of determination that would’ve moved any man.

He carefully examined her face, pondering her identity. That night, many people died trying to save her. It is obvious that her status can’t be low. Yet, no matter how much they inquired and investigated, exhausting all means, they still have not discovered her real identity. As for the other woman that was with her, someone recognized her as the recently famous “Black Widow” Hua Qing.

Judging by the friendship between her and Hua Qing that transcended the fear of death, it is obvious that the two women’s relationship must be extraordinary… the man frowned, a vague and bold conjecture flashed within him. It is precisely that conjecture that stopped him from cutting off the Black Widow’s head. Of course, he is not going to admit that in actuality, in the beginning, it was because he saw how she had clutched Hua Qing’s hand with a death grip before she fainted and it sparked something inside him that made him leave Hua Qing alive.

“Who is she?” His thought swirling, the man’s expression went through several changes as the dim daylight shined into the room revealing a man with gentle features exuding a soft and elegant vibe if one can ignore the chilling vigilance in his eyes.

Prince An of Da Yu stared at the person on the bed and pondered for a long time.

The person on the bed stirred restlessly as if she was about to wake up.

Jin Siyu immediately stood up and opened a hidden door on the wall. The light penetrated into the dark space to reveal the mottled walls, blood-stained torture tools, iron gates, and rotten straw.

Who would’ve guessed that under such a magnificent and luxurious room there would be a cell?

Jin Siyu grabbed the stirring person from the bed, carried her much thinner body, stepped into the prison cell, opened the gate door, and threw the person in his hands onto the rotten straw.

On the other side of the prison cell, another door opened and some shadowy figures flashed in. Jin Siyu spared a glance over at it but said nothing.

After being dragged and thrown, the person finally woke up.

Under the light of the oil lamp hanging on the yellowed wall, the person opened her eyes.

In that instant, the eyes that have been through war-torn battlefields are filled with autumn mist, soft and crystal clear. One look and it made Jin Siyu’s heart skip a beat.

Immediately looking away from those eyes, Jin Siyu stared at her face with an expression of indifference.

The woman waking up in a daze seemed to have not grasped her situation. Rustling around on the straw, seemingly still feeling dizzy, the woman shook her head, put a hand up to her temple, and let out a groan.

After a while, she raised her head, the light from the oil lamp shined on the scar on her forehead, making the reddish color between her brows even more pronounced.

A bit confused, she looked around at her surroundings then at Jin Siyu who was standing in front of her.

Jin Siyu stood unmoved. The position he was standing at was one the provided him the most protection from any attack. Moreover, hidden out of sight are a number of highly skilled fighters. If the person in front of him suddenly attacked, then what awaits her would be something worse than death.

Yet, the woman didn’t move. She sat there with a dazed expression for a bit before lazily pulling on the straws, throwing away the rotten ones to reveal the smooth fresh straws underneath then laid down comfortably.

As she was lying down, she mumbled “How come the straw a bit ago felt softer than this one…”

Jin Siyu stared at her with stunned amazement. He had imagined many possibilities of what would happen when this woman woke up. Perhaps she would attack violently, pretend to be crazy or stupid, but in none of his imaginations was of this result.

The woman seemed to be very tired. Once she laid down then she stopped moving. Judging by her half-closed eyes, it looks like she is about to fall back asleep again.

Jin Siyu stood for a long time with no one paying him any heed and no one to ask the belly full of questions he has accumulated. Finally unable to wait any longer, Jin Siyu stepped forward and kicked her.

“Get up!”

With a *BANG* the body that weighed almost nothing was kicked from one end to another end, hitting the wall. Hearing the sound, Jin Siyu frowned slightly.

The woman’s limp body slid down from the wall and coughed as she laid face down on the ground. The hollow cough echoed in the prison cell, making those within earshot grow irritable.

After she was finally done coughing, she slowly got up, raised her head to look at Jin Siyu, and finally asked “Who are you? Where is this?”

Finally hearing a normal sentence, Jin Siyu looked at her coldly and said with a frown “This is not a place where you get to ask me questions. Who are you?”

Squinting her eyes, the woman’s expression was neither fiercely strong nor one of cold indifference, completely lacking the dazzling shine she showed on the night of that bloody battle. With a look of dazed confusion in her eyes, she muttered “Ah? Who am I?”

Jin Siyu glanced over at the scar on her forehead and sneered “Faking amnesia? In front of this prince?”

“You are a prince?” The woman tilted her head to look at him. Her action caused her delicate elegant features to suddenly have a hint of cunning playfulness in them. Seeing the change, something flashed in Jin Siyu’s eyes.

“How did I offend you? This the prison in your palace?” The woman looked around and muttered, “I committed a capital crime?”

She thought for a long while and seemingly feeling tired again she laid back down “It seemed that the crime I committed was not a small one. Judging by the look in your eyes, you really want to kill me. In that case, we don’t have to waste time dealing with one another. I am very tired. Even if you are not planning to feed me, you should let me get a good sleep before I die.”
