*I am using the word “Upcoming” very loosely here. Most of the shows listed here are done filming so they SHOULD be out sometime during 2021. However, when a C-drama air depends a lot of time when they get permission from the government so that’s why sometimes you might see a drama that has finished filming for a long time and is still caught in the broadcasting limbo but hopefully that won’t happen to any of the shows listed here. Like the Drama Roundup, this post will be updated from time to time.
You Are My Glory (Expected release: Summer)
Despite being a top celebrity now, back in her high school days, our heroine was only an ordinary girl whose confession was rejected by her crush. Unexpectedly meeting her crush again ten years later when she needed an online gaming coach in order to save her faltering image as a gaming spokesperson who is terrible at gaming, our heroine’s poor little heart is once again in danger of falling for the exact same guy.
Growing up with a burning love for the field of aerospace, our hero has always believed money or even romantic relationships are not too much to sacrifice for his dream…that is until his mother falls ill and he is confronted with the reality that as an aerospace engineer he simply doesn’t have the financial means to give his own mother the best medical care. Will meeting our heroine give our hero the courage to pursue his dream once more or will he reject her…again?
It is extremely difficult to not go into this one with high expectations given the blinding star power of Yang Yang and Dilraba Dilmurat. The plot sounds good thus far and honestly, as long as the story is tolerable I will probably stick around to just to stare at our two leads…
The Oath of Love
Yang Zi (Go Go Squid) plays a young cellist who seems to have a bright future ahead of her. With a promising job waiting for her once she graduates from college in a year and a loving boyfriend by her side, our heroine could want for nothing until her father’s sudden illness stripped both of those things away from her. Struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel as she cares for her father, our heroine develops an unlikely friendship with her father’s attending physician. As two people who have both been hurt in love, our two leads’ friendship provided healing at first and slowly paves the way for something more.
There is a lot of excitement for this one so I am really crossing my fingers that it will live up to the high bar people have set for it.

I’m a bit underwhelmed by You Are My Glory. Even though it sounds like something I will gladly like (fluuuuuuff) I still have difficulties with YangYang. After all these years his acting still leaves a lot to wish for. He is okay for the not very emotional type but when it comes to feelings he lacks depth. Dilraba may be also not first class but at least she delivers okay in that department.
Maybe I’m just too demanding. That never was planned as HQ Drama. So, as long they have a decent chemistry and the story isn’t too obvious, I surely will watch that since both are eyecandies.
I do see what you mean about Yang Yang. Luckily, this particular hero is not exactly the emotional type so maybe it will work?
I read the book that the show is based on – loooved it! Story was well written and mature. Hopefully the production team stick to the story closely, it should be a great hit!
I just read it too and really enjoyed it! I am hoping the show won’t feel the need to add angst to the story though.
Hi Ninja -reflection,
Just wanted to check in and make sure you were ok. Normally you post a couple times a week with crazy consistency and I noticed you’ve been silent for about a week. Since I’ve been reading your blog I’ve never seen you miss a week. (This isn’t harping for content) just checking in to make sure you are ok.
Hope you are well
Thank you so much for noticing and asking! I had a family member who was about to have a mental break down if we didn’t get him out on a vacation so we did a very last minute trip to Disneyworld. (Not that I would advise going on a trip during a pandemic… On a side note, I was fairly impressed with all the safety protocols Disney implemented and on the whole, I would say almost all the guests took mask-wearing and sanitizing their hands seriously.) It was my first time at Disneyworld SO I had severely underestimated how tiring and useless I would be by the end of the day. I think it was the very first time since I started writing a blog that I went for such a long time without updating. In fact, I think it was the first time since I started watching Asian Drama that I went a whole week without watching dramas. Needless to say, I was VERY happy to be back home to see the long list of dramas I need to catch up on!
Oh good! I’m glad you had a chance to get away for a bit and everything is well with you. I totally know what you mean about needing a vacation! Hopefully it had the desired affect! Glad to hear from you! Stay well! ….. and I realize there an absurd amount of exclamation points in this comment ….but they are sincere so I will leave them 😋
