Still trying to clam his racing little heart, Shen Jun Xin wisely decides to forgo his drink toast and focuses on just eating instead.

Shen Jun Xin did bring up the topic of Magistrate Peng’s bribery case, because after all, it does make more sense that the Royal Censors be the ones to handle the case.

“I am just a lowly 7th level censor official so how could I compare to a fifth level official…” Zhi Wei protests with a long yawn. Feeling a sudden movement by her sleeve, Zhi Wei’s hand reaches down to feel a wad of cash as Shen Jun Xin gives her a chummy grin “Royal Censors oversees all officials, so of course we have to rely on you, sir.” Pulling the big wad of money into her sleeve, Zhi Wei smiles turns almost tender as she replies “Is that right? Well, there is certainly room for discussion.”

“Yes, yes…”

“If you want my opinion, I really don’t think there is much urgency to this thing.” Her eyes crinkling into a smile, Zhi Wei leans close to Shen Jun Xin’s ear and says “Old Peng still has quite a good reputation around here so why would the two of you want to turn this into something so ugly? What if it gets the people all riled up? I say, take this slowly, slowly…”

“Sir, you are right.” With a beleaguered expression, Shen Jun Xin laments “But those on the top have some things they want to do right away…”

“I don’t want to know.” Zhi Wei waves her hand carelessly “Those are you guys’ business so it’s not appropriate for me to poke my nose into it. I am too scared to listen, too scared to listen.”

Feeling unsettled after hearing Zhi Wei’s words, Shen Jun Xin says after thinking for a moment “It really is not a big thing. A few days ago, my brother had summoned me and mentioned that among the arrest orders from above, there are two criminals who had come to our area. My brother admonished me to pay special attention to the case after I take over the magistrate position and we were to report immediately if we apprehend the two criminals.”

Leaning close to Zhi Wei’s ear Shen Jun Xin whispers “My brother said that these two hardened criminals did something BIG in the Capital. Apparently it involved some top palace secret so everything has to be hush hush as we try to capture these two criminals.”

Hardened criminals? It even involves some top palace secret? What secret? The fact that Prince Chu can’t drink wine? Zhi Wei glances over Ning Yi with amusement while she turns the tea cup in her hand “Hmm… is that so. Chasing after criminals. In that case, I should help with what I can.” Zhi Wei purses her lips towards Master Gu’s direction and adds “This is honorable man here is fourth level sword carrying official. He was personally appointed by the Emperor to protect Prince Helian as His Highness travel around to experience our country. Let me tell you, before he held an office, he was the highest elder in the Green Snowy Mountain Invincible Sect. His fighting abilities…well, you saw it for yourself. The plate was nothing, he could’ve easily shatter someone’s head! From a young age, he had to practice the “Great Head Shattering” fighting technique. Every day, he had to shatter eight heads so there is no head in this world he can’t shatter…”

The two officials give an involuntary shudder as they both try to imagine their head shattering like the way the plate had just now….

Helian gives Master Gu a look of pity and thought silently how great of self control the man must possess in order to listen to that women’s wild tales. One really can’t judge a book by its cover. Who knew Master Gu would possess such impressive self-control!

Ning Yi was in the middle of drink his tea but ended up spewing out all the tea back into his cup. Speechless, Ning Yi looks at his tea cup before pushing it to the side. After thinking for a moment, Ning Yi grabs Zhi Wei’s tea cup– she is too busy tricking people so she won’t have time to finish her tea anyway.

“Crack!” Master Gu calmly shatters the eighth shell of the day– a walnut shell.

A bit scared by Zhi Wei’s bloody description but Shen Jun Xin’s eyes still lit up nonetheless. He saw Gu Nan Yi’s official pendant with his own eyes, it was the real deal for sure. In this empire, the Sword Carrying Royal Guard might not have any real authority but very few are award with the title so only the truly trusted legendary fighters have it. For this official to be in charge of personally protecting Prince Helian, then there is no doubt to the caliber of fighter he is. The man’s temperament might be a bit strange but that doesn’t stop the two officials from being tempted to have such a legendary fighter’s help, it will surely cut the time they need to fulfill the order they were given. Exchanging a glance with Official Liu and remembering Governor Shen’s nervousness concerning those two criminals lately, Shen Jun Xin is finally swayed by his eagerness to prove himself to his superiors. Taking out two papers from his inner pocket, Shen Jun Xin hands them over to Zhi Wei and explains “Sir, these are the two criminals. According to our information, these two criminals are extremely good fighters and are skilled at all sorts of trickery. We were ordered that we must not let these two people have the chance to speak. Sir, do you think…”

Zhi Wei picks up the painting that was supposed to be Ning Yi and clucks “They did such a great job with these drawings! Look at those rat looking features and vile expression, one could tell right away from his appearance that he must be a hardened criminal. Please rest assured, Official Shen, we all have the duty to fight for justice and rid our world of such vile men, we will not turn away at your time of need!” Leaning over, Ning Yi picks up the other painting that is supposed to be Zhi Wei’s and laughingly says after “peering” closely at it “Yes, indeed. The paintings are impressively descriptive. Look at this hook nose, pea-like eyes and fierce eyebrows. You could tell right away that this person is a cunning scoundrel used to trickery and lies. There is no doubt he would be able to scale the walls and is extremely difficult to apprehend. It makes one furious and disgusted just by simply looking at the man.”

Zhi Wei and Ning Yi smile sweetly at each other as they each hold the painting of the other person. The woman who rather likes her own appearance, couldn’t help but glares at the abominable painting and thought: What jerk drew that?! My nose is nothing like that and my eyes are much much bigger! The man who has a small plan of his own silently uses the painting as a cover to stealthily push his tea cup- the very cup that had caught the tea he had sputtered back out from his mouth over to the woman too focused on the issue of her appearance to notice. The woman who is too caught up about her looks, huffily puts down the painting in her hand before angrily draining the tea in the cup with one gulp.

Confused when she finally notices the man holding his tea cup beside her is smilingly dazzlingly with a suggestive twinkle in his eyes, Zhi Wei wonders silently: What’s wrong with this guy? Wasn’t he just picking on me? Why is he all the sudden acting like that now?

Decisively ignoring Ning Yi, Zhi Wei hands both paintings over to Master Gu as she smilingly asks “Official Yi, we sincerely asks for your help.” Looking down at the paintings in hand, Master Gu dips a chicken leg in the sauce and dragged it over Zhi Wei’s eyebrows in the painting. Getting all teary, Zhi Wei silently comforts herself: See, Silly Gu is the only one who can appreciate my beauty….unlike some people whose eyes are just decorations.

Finished with Zhi Wei’s painting, Master Gu frowns in disgust as he looks over Ning Yi’s then promptly shoves the chicken legs through Ning Yi’s face in the painting…

Prince Helian’s eyebrows wiggled like crazy as if he could feel his own face had been jabbed through.

Glancing over at Ning Yi who is still languidly drinking his tea, seemingly completely unaware of what just happened, Zhi Wei’s smile widens.
