My Mr. Mermaid (Chinese Drama, New)

A college romance about a newbie sports reporter and our hero who is an uprising college swimmer. So, lots of young loves and chasing after one’s dreams. The first episode was pretty light and fun so I might check back on this one once some of the shows on my watch list wrap up.

Attention Love (Taiwanese Drama, New)

This one looks fun! Joanne Tseng plays a tough girl who is feared by all the boys and admired by all the girls at school because her father had enrolled her in various kind of martial art classes since she was young. Despite her tomboy personality, our heroine is nonetheless curious about love. However, much to our heroine’s chagrin, her father constantly nags about how she was betrothed to some stranger before she was even born then reminds her to stay away from all other boys. Annoyed when her parents suddenly inform her that her “fiancee” who has been living in Japan is going to start living with them, our heroine unwillingly stomps out of her room to meet the stranger…until her heart skips a beat at the sight of our broody and very good looking hero.

I checked out episode one and it reminded me a bit of It Started With A Kiss (2005) so I am pretty excited!

People You May Know (Korean Web Drama, New)

After losing her boyfriend in a tragic car accident, our heroine becomes consumed with the cell phone he left her. Not knowing her boyfriend’s password beforehand, our heroine is left searching their past for clues as she uses the precious 10 tries to unlock the phone. (The data in the phone will be completely wiped out after 10 failed tries.) Already doing her best to hide her pain at work, our heroine’s fragile emotion is put to another test when she is assigned a newbie whose name is exactly the same as her ex-boyfriend’s.

I watched the first 3 episodes in one shot and while the story does get sad at parts but I was still left wanting more.

Secret Forest (Korean Drama, Finished)

I loved this one and for once is really hoping we get a season 2! Both Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doo Na did an outstanding job with their characters. Bae Doo Na was especially impressive since the writer didn’t give her character much background story at all but she still managed to make her character very memorable. As I feared, there really wasn’t much (or any as some would probably protest) romance to speak of in the plot, however, the two leads had such great chemistry together that I find myself quite content even if they just end up being life long friends. Overall, the story’s pacing was fast, the characters (including the villains) were compelling, and most importantly, the ending didn’t leave me feel like I should just give up hope since the world will always be controlled by powerful evil men.

The Perfect Match (Taiwanese Drama, Finished)

The one was pretty cute from beginning to end. The last bit had an overflowing amount of noble idiocy but thanks to our two leads’ great acting skills, I have to say that was one of the best break up scenes I have ever seen. All in all, a cute romance that probably could’ve been better if it was shorter in length but still worth checking out.

The Rose of Sharon Has Bloomed (Korean Daily)

I have been following this K-daily lately. Our heroine is a newbie policewoman at a local neighborhood police station. Despite the police connections, this one has no real villains or criminals. A rather peaceful K-family drama for a change, the story revolves around the ordinary drama around the heroine. There are a few love lines in the show but the heroine’s romance with her partner at the police station is my favorite.
