Somehow, one of them tilted their head, and there was a warm and soft touch between their lips.
It was like lightening that swept across the sky, splitting that deep dark abyss or like a jade stone thrown into the center of the waves, spreading infinite ripples. It seemed like a corner of the heart trembled and the universe was opened, and a string resonated somewhere, making a trembling sound.
Feng Zhi Wei blushed, tilted her head and reached out a hand to push but Master Gu had already let her go and was stroking his lips in a daze. His veil was lifted up a corner, and his slender jade-colored fingers were placed on the side of his thin red lips, reminding one of the red agate on a jade plate, with its sharp contrast due to the extremely bright color.
Looking at his expression of savoring, Feng Zhi Wei’s face flushed bright red and quickly took a step back. Suddenly, a sound came from above. Thinking the sharp blades had arrived, she quickly looked up but found the blades had not made their way down yet. Instead, something seemed to flash by in the corner of the roof but she didn’t see clearly what it was.
Snapping back to attention, Gu Nan Yi drew the sword around his waist and went after the crossed shaped double swords at the door. As expected, the moment he made a move, the double swords began to move as well. With a clang, sparks flew. Gu Nan Yi’s sword, which was obviously not an ordinary one, was still unable to cut through the double swords.
“Don’t worry about it.” Feng Zhi Wei looked at the blades above that have almost reaches her head, and pulled Gu Nan Yi under a desk, “We just need to wait for someone to open the door.”
Suddenly, someone outside laughed and said, “Where is your Grand Marshal? He called me over in a rush in the middle of the night and said something about giving me a gift. But he is not showing himself now. What kind of host is he?”
The man’s voice was young, and his tone was arrogant and unrestrained. Someone, probably a trusted subordinated left by Lu Rui, answered with a laugh, “Grand Marshal said he wanted to give you a surprise, but needs to trouble you to go there in person.”
“That old Lui, what’s with all the secrecy?” The man strode over. Feng Zhi Wei listened to his voice and smiled when it was the person she had expected. She took out a piece of paper, and resting it on Gu Nan Yi’s knees, wrote a few words on it.
When the man arrived at the door, he first admired the double-blade mechanism and then peeked through the gap. Feng Zhi Wei poked her head out from under the desk and greeted him with a smile, “Ah Si, hello.”
When the young prince of Changning clan, Lu Zhi Yan, saw that it was Feng Zhi Wei, his eyes lit up immediately, and he said with great joy. “It’s you! It’s certainly a great gift! Oh, my, Lord Wei, Lord Wei, how did you end up in such an embarrassing situation?”
“Embarrassing?” Feng Zhi Wei smiled and looked down at herself, “I don’t feel that way. Am I not lying safely, waiting for your arrival?”
“With a double-sword gate in front of him, and sharp blades above his head, yet the Marquis Wei is lying safely in it. He truly has the style of the ancient masters! Hahaha.” Lu Zhi Yan squinted one eye and looked at Feng Zhi Wei. A slight regret and resignation flashed across his eyes. Suddenly he sighed, stretched out his hand and said, “Come on, I know you want to use those three conditions to ask me to let you go. Give it to me. There are two left.”
“Sigh…how careless I was…such a shame…such a shame…” Feng Zhi Wei sighed slowly, took out the paper with the seal of Changning Fan, and stretched out his hand “The first request is to let us both out.”
Lu Zhi Yan abruptly retraced his hand, crossed them across his chest, squinted his eyes, looked at Feng Zhi Wei with his head tilted, and said slowly, “Suddenly, I am thinking, why should I take them back one by one and be beholden to you? Why can’t I take those three back all at once?
“Oh?” Feng Zhi Wei was all smiles as she asked, “How are you going to take them all back at once?”
“For example.” Lu Zhi Yan smiled, revealing his pearly white teeth. If he was like a fox with peach blossom eyes moments ago, he had turned into a wolf with peach blossom eyes now, “Let those blades fall faster, chop you to death, and when you become corpses, won’t those things be recovered?”
He winked cunningly and said, “I agreed to grant you three requests, but I didn’t say that I can’t take them back this way, don’t you agree?”
“You really want to kill me?” Feng Zhi Wei looked at him with interest, “Have you thought about how to deal with the aftermath?”
Lu Zhi Yan turned his head and looked around, flicked the wall with his fingers, and said leisurely in the clear echo of the room, “This thing is a house that can be taken apart and put back together right? When you two are dead, this thing can probably be made into an iron coffin. A coffin that contains the bodies of Tiansheng envoys somehow appeared in some wilderness in Jicheng city. Our regent could worry about the rest. It would be great if Tiansheng gets angry and sends troops to attack. Haha, it could settle the old grudge from twenty years ago once and for all, how satisfying would that be?”
“How satisfying! So you, Changning Fan, can fish in troubled waters, or start new troubles. In short, it’s best for Tiansheng and Xiliang not to form an alliance. The more chaotic the better. Only in chaos, can someone benefit.” Feng Zhi Wei applauded, “What great calculations, great calculations.”
“Thanks for the compliment.” Lu Zhi Yan bowed gracefully, showing off his aristocratic demeanor.
“Then that’s it.” Feng Zhi Wei squatted under the desk, and the blades had already reached the desk. The tip of the blades had pierced countless holes in the desk, and it might soon pierce her head. Not bothering to look at the blades at all, she said sincerely, “But I advise you, when you prepare an iron coffin for us, remember to prepare one for yourself.”
“What do you mean?” Lu Zhi Yan glanced at her.
“Those who are arrogant and presumptuous can live today, but not tomorrow.” Feng Zhi Wei said lightly, “You underestimate others, so naturally, you are the one to pay the price.”
Lu Zhi Yan curled his lips, didn’t say anything but his expression became more solemn. He was a smart guy and knew who Feng Zhi Wei was referring to.
“The Regent is ambitious and maintains good relations with everyone. Tiansheng, Changning, and even Da Yue are all gathered in Jincheng city. The Regent is trying to find the most reliable ally among them. This is a bold attempt and a risky move.” Feng Zhi Wei smiled, “Since he dares to do this, how can he not guard against one of these three parties doing something to harm Xiliang? I think, if you really make your move against us today, once Tiansheng demands retribution, then the Regent will have a way to hand you over. Right now, you are in Xiliang after all, not Changning.”
Lu Zhi Yan sneered. Although he was still disdainful, his expression was no longer as casual and carefree as before.
“Besides, Lu Rui may not be willing to take on this trouble. As a confidant of the Regent, he might not have had any good intentions in notifying you to come today,” Feng Zhi Wei grinned, then said with indifference, “Okay, little prince Ah Si, don’t waste your time here. Even you yourself know that you can’t kill us today. Do you want to see me begging for mercy in humiliation? Forget it.”
Lu Zhi Yan rubbed his chin, looked at her with interest, and suddenly said, “Has anyone told you that you are actually quite domineering?”
Feng Zhi Wei answered sweetly, “Everyone praises me for my benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, and trustworthiness, and for my gentleness, kindness, respect, frugality and modesty.”
“Haha.” Lu Zhi Yan laughed dryly and suddenly asked, “…Did you go to the terrace of the waterside pavilion in the main hall of Changping Palace when we had that banquet there before?”
“There was a terrace over there?” Feng Zhi Wei asked with surprise, “If I had known there was a terrace, I would have gone there to rest for a while. The main hall was so noisy that my head is still buzzing.”
Lu Zhi Yan glanced at her suspiciously. Knowing that he could never get a reliable answer, he could only sigh and spread his hands.
Feng Zhi Wei took out a paper roll with Changning’s seal and handed it over.
Lu Zhi Yan was both a little unwilling and a little relieved, and reached out to take it through the sword door.
The moment his fingertips were about to touch the paper roll, Feng Zhi Wei’s hand suddenly shot out and grabbed Lu Zhi Yan’s fingers and pulled them in!
