The noise that night was quite terrifying. The commotion was startling and big in the silence of the night. People came from all directions to see what had happened. Feng Zhi Wei was quick to react. When she saw the big white object, she immediately knew what it was and promptly ran to the moon-shaped gate, stopped the guards from approaching, and laughed dryly, “I was admiring the flowers by the lotus pond and accidentally pushed my chair in. It’s okay, it okay, everyone can disperse.”

The guards dispersed. Feng Zhi Wei wiped the sweat off her face and still had to personally fish out the unfortunate girl. When she dragged the girl out, the poor girl had already fainted from fright and collapsed into a heap on the ground. What’s worse, her chest was exposed with only her lower body half covered by her underskirt. Her own face blushing, Feng Zhi Wei was in her man disguise after all so she only took a quick glance at the girl. Thinking inwardly that the young master is truly a wild one, she went over to knock on Master Gu’s door while ordering Gu Zhi Xiao’s maid to go clean up the girl.

She had assumed that Master Gu would be in a temper and would for sure ignore her but much to her surprise, the door opened the moment she knocked. Feng Zhi Wei was about to speak when she suddenly saw that Master Gu’s clothes were half undressed, revealing most of his chest. His skin was shiny and smooth even in the darkened room, accompanied by a faint and clean scent. Instantly enveloped by his scent, like a bright moon suddenly popping up right in front of one’s eyes, Feng Zhi Wei’s mind turned to mush, and promptly forgot what she was going to say. She hurriedly stepped back, and blurted out, “Ah, you should rest. I took care of what happened just now…”

Master Gu didn’t speak, nor did he straighten his clothes. He just looked at her silently. When he saw her stepping back, he suddenly opened his arms, hugged her, then immediately lowered his face and buried his head…in Feng Zhi Wei’s chest.

Feng Zhi Wei let out an “Ah.”, and stood there stunned.

Gu Nan Yi buried himself deeply, trying to find the feeling that had once made him feel “hot” through the layers and layers of thick chest cloth. He soon found a tiny bit in that slight curve and felt a leap from his heart and the blood in his body surging like it had that night. The familiar feeling made him take a breath with satisfaction and he quickly let go, saying with a relieved tone, “This is the right one.”

Feng Zhi Wei: “…………”

Master Gu stared at what to him looked like the lotus bud view for a while and thought inwardly to himself that sure enough, there was no need to experiment. As expected, there was only this one lotus bud in the whole world, and sure enough, there was only disgust when he touched other people’s. Sigh, in actuality, they don’t look all that different but why did they feel so different? He really can’t understand. Sigh, it was a waste of time.

He let go as soon as he touched it, and after having satisfied the doubts and thoughts inside him, he promptly closed his door and went comfortably to bed. Standing on the other side of the door, it took Feng Zhi Wei a good while to finally process the fact that her chest was attacked by Master Gu just now.

It is intolerable that her chest was attacked, but what’s more intolerable was that after attacking her chest, a certain guy didn’t even apologize and just went to bed.

Seeing red, Feng Zhi Wei really wanted to go against her personal code of conduct and kicked open the door to have a good talk with the young master about the propriety between opposite genders and the virtue of being respectful, gentle, honest, etc. Her fingers had already touched the door but finally pulled her hand back after thinking about it.

Sigh, the young master seemed to be right at the cusp of being enlightened about something so it was normal he would want to experiment with women around him. Even if she really made a fuss, she would only be embarrassing herself since he would probably have no idea what she was going on about…and she might even cause unnecessary trauma to his little pure heart. This is naturally very destructive to a person who is in the stage of enlightenment, and not at all in line with the way of education.

Feng Zhi Wei was a little resentful of her own calm nature, with the tendency to always want to think about everything she encountered over and over again. Especially when she encounters things that would set other women off like a firecracker, she would end up thinking even more deeply. After turning matters over in her mind, most of the anger and impulses would get worn down, so in the end she could only rub her nose and leave resentfully.

So that’s exactly what she did. She rubbed her nose and left resentfully.

With Gu Nan Yi and her both being a bit preoccupied, one startled by the assault on her chest and the other pondering about the female gender, neither of them noticed the bright-eyed person perched high on the fence in the distance, once again writing furiously.

Hour: The third day of the sixth month, a quarter past midnight.

Characters: Gu Nan Yi, Feng Zhi Wei

Event: Gu Nan Yi hugged Feng Zhi Wei and rubbed against her breasts (Ridiculous!)

Personal opinion 1: Gu Nan Yi is a jerk who understands too well how to treat a woman.

Personal opinion 2: Feng Zhi Wei did not resist, she actually didn’t resist!

Personal opinion 3: Your Highness, after reading my last line, don’t cry yet I am not finished talking. I think it was not that Feng Zhi Wei didn’t want to resist, but she was simply too stunned and forgot to resist.

Personal opinion 4: But then I thought even if she didn’t resist at the time she would go find Gu Nan Yi afterward to vent her anger so why didn’t she?

Personal opinion 5: Your Highness, after reading #4 don’t be in a hurry to cry yet, I am still not done talking. I feel someone like Feng Zhi Wei overthink things. Maybe she thought it was pointless to make a fuss after the fact. Overall, this was a small thing.

Personal opinion 6: Your Highness, are you sure you really don’t need to put aside your assignment of overseeing the traveling palace and come to Xiliang for a visit?

After the **** incident in Jiyang, Feng Zhi Wei’s journey returned to calm. That subsequent aftermath of that **** incident really wasn’t much…other than causing Miss Xian Xian to be quite ill for a while from her fright, and the creation of a new legend to gossip about for the Jiyang officialdom, so that when the officials have nothing to do, they can fully immerse themself in their bizarre imaginations of the “juicy things that happened between Marquis Wei and Guard Gu on the night of June 3rd that must be shared…” At the very least, Master Gu is back to his ever-calm self and never asked to try out women again.

On the second day of July, the Tiansheng envoy team arrived at Tianshui Pass in Xiong County, the border between Minnan and Xiliang, where Feng Zhi Wei and Hua Qing met. The two had originally thought they would probably not see each other for a long time but who would’ve thought they met again in just a few months. When they met at the Weihe River, Tianshui Pass, which was separated from Xiliang by a river, they couldn’t help but smile at each other.

“Things in the Imperial Court are truly ever-changing.” Hua Qing’s sleeves fluttered in the wind. She laughed as she stared at the rolling water of the river, “You actually came to Minnan right after me.”

Feng Zhi Wei remained silent, quietly looking at the river water that was sparkling in the sunlight, and finally said softly after a long while, “His Majesty has a verbal order for me to bring you- you are to recruit the old members of the Fire Phoenix Army in southern Minan and rebuild the Fire Phoenix Army.”

Hua Qing’s eyes brightened and she smiled, “Yes, sir!”
