Thousands of soldiers were stunned, but he was the only one who didn’t move. Did not avoid, did not protect, did not block, he just looked up at her.
Thousands of soldiers were stunned, but she was the only one who looked unfazed. With a hint of a smile in the corner of her lips, she drew the bow.
The bowstring squeaked slightly, the long arrow is about to be released, a slight smile appeared on Jin Siyu’s face.
Right at that instant.
An abrupt change occurred!
Her arms suddenly slammed down, the heavy bow hit the crenel of the battlement wall causing the crenel to shatter instantly, turning into a cloud of red mist. Her body leaning on the crenel lost its support and abruptly fall from the city tower.
A line of shooting stars, flew in front of the ten thousand troops, thousands of feet above the snowy fields. (Just a reminder to not take the numbers here too literally.)
On the distant horizon, the crimson morning sun leaped up with a sudden force.
In the crimson sunrise, from the high top of the city tower, a person fell like a thin leaf of grass or a wisp of feathers, swaying in the golden light.
Everyone looked up, so stunned by what they were seeing that they forgot to breathe.
The crenel of the battlement wall shattered, in the red cloud of shattered dust a hand shot out like lightning to grab onto something.
Grasping at the air.
There was a faint sound of torn silk, and a piece of the corner of clothing that was as smooth as running water, floated in the air, slowly.
On the city wall, Jin Siyu stood stunned.
His hand, frozen in that empty space, grasping a piece of nothingness.
His heart seemed to have also fallen into the icy nothingness.
After a pause, he shrank back slowly, seemingly able to hear the grating sounds of his stiff bones rubbing together.
Feng Zhi Wei fell down as she wished.
Where she was located, the guard battalion was right under her, with thousands of spears pointing straight up, falling onto it would make her into a bloody sieve.
Her last sober thought was spreading her arms and legs in mid-air, letting herself fly lightly. In those fast-moving winds, the past flashed through her mind like flowing water.
Suddenly, she felt very peaceful.
SWISH SWISH
Several silhouettes leap up from the Tiansheng army formation, all opening their arms to meet the falling woman, hoping to catch her with their own arms, or willing to be her meat cushion.
But there was a silhouette that stepped over heads, faster than the stream of light.
The yellow figure burst out, at a speed faster than he has ever achieved, above the guard battalion that was still all looking up dumbly at the city tower.
He met the still falling Feng Zhi Wei.
“Stop him!”
A thunderous roar of fury exploded from the city tower.
Jerked awake, the guard battalion drew their swords or bows but the man was far above everyone’s head and Tao Yangyu has also arrived with his furious cavalry.
Zong Chen looked up worriedly at the yellow shadow. It’s easy for Gu Nan Yi to catch Feng Zhi Wei but it would be very difficult to land smoothly. The huge impact of the fall at such a height would be like taking a direct hit from ten elite fighters striking out together. The consequence would be dire if Gu Nan Yi couldn’t handle it and ended up falling into the midst of the guard battalion.
The yellow shadow flew up, with a lightning leap, and in mid-air, his hand is already touching Feng Zhi Wei’s hanging hand.
Fingers touching, Gu Nan Yi suddenly flicked his fingers and swing his arm across. Using a clever force, Gu Nan Yi changed the direction of Feng Zhi Wei’s fall from down to sideways, straight past the guard battalions.
Helian and Ning Yi burst up into the sky at the same time. The latter’s position was further away but he wasn’t weighed down like Helian with his big sword. One black and one green, the two figures almost simultaneously caught Feng Zhi Wei. One wrapped his hands around her shoulder while the other held her legs.
The two even had time to exchange a glance mid-air, each let out a small huff, and seemingly both made some movement beneath Feng Zhi Wei’s body, followed by a muffled sound, with both of their shoulders shaking slightly.
On the other side, Gu Nan Yi used all of his strength to push Feng Zhi Wei out mid-air, absorbing all the impact by himself. With a grunt, blood began to seep out of the corner of his lips. All of his internal energy completely sapped, Gu Nan Yi falls like a stone straight down.
Helian saw what was happening when he turned his head and immediately let go of Feng Zhi Wei to go save Gu Nan Yi, but of course he was too far to reach there in time.
Fortunately, Zong Chen had been with Gu Nan Yi the whole time they were fighting the guard battalion. The moment Gu Nan Yi reached Feng Zhi Wei, Zong Chen immediately flew up. Calculating where Gu Nan Yi would fall, Zong Chen released a handful of gray mist. The gray mist scattered in all directions, causing the soldiers it touched to fall collectively unconscious to the ground. With a bang, Gu Nan Yi landed on these meat cushions.
Zong Chen immediately used those meat cushions as stepping stones, picked up Gu Nan Yi, and ran. Before the still conscious soldiers could react, Zong Chen has already reached the opposite side. Helian met up with Zong Chen and exclaimed with joy “You have such a brilliant medicine? Why not just take it out and spread it around then we won’t even have to fight.”
Zong Chen rolled his eyes at Helian– do you think this is the sesame seeds on the butter tea of the wild grassland? Ordinary people would not be able to imagine how difficult it is to prepare such powerful medicine. With this one handful he had thrown away the precious stash he had saved for ten years, his heart is aching at this very moment. Only for Feng Zhi Wei and Gu Nan Yi would he be willing to do something like this.
There was no time to waste on quarreling with Helian. Zong Chen quickly checked on Gu Nan Yi. Luckily, Gu Nan Yi had protected his heart when he fell (most likely meaning he used his internal energy to protect his heart) so he had only suffered some internal injuries. However, Gu Nan Yi is now in the same state as Feng Zhi Wei, temporarily unconscious due to the impact of falling from such a height.
Looking up at the city tower, the ruined crenel of the battlement wall that was in front of Feng Zhi Wei looked like a missing front tooth on the tower, shining coldly and ironically in the rising sun. By the broken crenel, under the banner of An, that person stood with a stony face, glaring at the destroyed piece of wall, like watching a dream suddenly shattered in front of him.
Helian flashed a big grin at Jin Siyu and made a taunting gesture of pulling a bow before laughing heartily.
Jin Siyu nearly crushed the brick that was under his hand on the city wall.

Ning Yi had been holding Feng Zhi Wei silently, staring down at her face, staring at the cold sneer that had not yet dissipated from her lips. His fingers trembled slightly, as if he wanted to touch but stopped himself in the end.
After a year apart, this is the first time to be so close, to hold her in his arms, to feel her calm breathing and warm body temperature, to feel her actual existence he had longed so long for, he suddenly felt a joy that made even his heart tremble.
Her light and supple body in his arms, making him too feel like he is surrounded on all sides by soft fluffy clouds.
Some fortune one does not dare to ask for too much at once, for fear of losing a lifetime of blessings, so to simply hold, it already feels wonderful, wonderful.
His finger stopped by her cheeks, and gently brushed off a stray strand of hair by her temples before standing up slowly and saying coldly:
“Battle!”

Thank you so much for this astonishing development !
I was short of breath until the end.
Let’s see what happens now 🙂
Thank you very much again, Ninja !
I wish you a great week.
OMW!! I was waiting so anxiously from the prior week to see what else would develop. Surely all the rescue collaboration that took place wouldn’t leave FZ in the wrong hands!
Ninja, thanks for all your efforts in translating!! This continues to be an intriguing story.
This description or translation must have been difficult. I had to read it a few times to play the scene out in my head. It’s a bit fantastical. I wish the scene was filmed so that we can see it play out 3 dimensionally. But still quite exciting and I can’t wait for next week.
Wow, it magically reading, I was holding my breath too. They should have written this scene in the drama, instead of using it for ZW in the end with her falling of the cliff? I can’t wait to see what else happen. Is the book in English yet? I need to read it. Thanks Ninja for that marvelous translation.
Perfect solution to a impossible situation . Only FZW can pull such a number, and have all these adoring men to save her..
Thank you for your work allowing us to enjoy this book.
I saw complete trust from Ning Yi to Feng Zhi Wei, and how deep is FZW’s love to Ning Yi that she chose not to hurt him. What a great story this week. Thank you, Ninja!
Oh my , on my! The love these two have for each other is deep and profound. How could she kill the nan she loves? Great translation, looking forward to next week.
I find FZW’s motives throughout her time here in captivity very hard to decipher. Was she trying to bide her time until her strength returned and she could get herself and Hua Quiong free? And, has her heart started to soften to Ning Yi? I was surprised she let him kiss her in the study, considering how she blamed him for her family’s deaths. Perhaps his letter eased her rage towards him?
And thank you so much for doing these translations. Like many, I was so disappointed with how the drama went so far downhill, and did such disservice to
FJW and NY especially. I loved that she was strong, smart, and complex, so watching her turn into a fragile victim was a real betrayal of her character. Making Ning Yi’s love for her turn possessive and toxic, was a betrayal of his character, in so many ways.
Reading these translations has been wonderful. Thank you!
