Jin Siyu hurriedly retreated with the flow of the water, leaving him no time to think about Shao Yao anymore. He retreated quickly but the person chasing after him was even quicker. The two rushed along the water until a faint red color spread out. Jin Siyu turned over with some difficulty, a slash of red on his arms. With no time to pay attention to his arm, he grabbed hold of a red fabric and spread it out in front of him.

The person was an extremely good fighter and seemed to be quite familiar with the human body, his every attack was precise, even with the curtain hiding his body, the person’s sword stilled aimed straight for his heart.

*Cha*

The sound of the metal tip pierced into flesh. The man’s attack was astonishingly precise, and a silver light flashed in the dark water.

Someone let out a faint groan.

With the turbulent waves, no one could tell what happened under the water but some of the guards that were not washed out had already calmed down enough to organize themselves to search for Jin Siyu. Capitan Liu was in the outhouse but rushed back after hearing the thunderous noise. Stunned by the chaotic sight, Capitan Liu jumped up and shouted “His Highness is under the main tent, hurry up, go save him! Ah!”

*PA!*

The whip made Captian Liu tremble with joy. Turning around, Captain Liu was greeted by his “king” standing with one hand on his hip and another holding the whip, glaring at him.

Captain Liu subconsciously wanted to throw himself at his “king’s” pant leg, impressed by how majestic his “king” wielded the whip today “Ah, my king, so glorious!”

“Happy?!” Captain Liu’s king (Helian) whipped him again, “It feels especially good getting whipped at this place, right?”

“Yes!”

*Pa!*

Liu Sanhu’s next whip landed right on Captain Liu’s head, and knocked him unconscious, making it easy to stuff him in the corner of the wall.

Kelie was also outside tonight. Someone had moved his wheelchair out and put it in a place not too far from the main tent. There have been some signs over the last couple days that Kelie should be able to speak soon. Tonight, he had pointed at the main tent and made noises indicating that he wanted to go inside but the maid had stopped him. When the water came, the maid that was taking care of Kelie got swept away and the wheelchair was also knocked to the ground. In the torrent of water, Kelie clung to the wheelchair and was washed to some unknown enclosure and in his struggle, he actually managed to utter some vague words: “She is…”

“Who is she?”

In the chaos, no one heard Kelie’s words but someone right by him asked him in the most gentle and tender tone. Kelie looked up to see a man in a green robe. The man was also completely soaked but did not look disheveled or flustered at all as he looked down at him with mild interest.

In his eyes, there was the chill of high snowy mountain top, full of blooming devil’s snare (flower).

Seeing the man’s eyes, Kelie suddenly felt a chill that is even colder than the lake water just now.

Something dawned on him and he immediately attempted to drag the wheelchair over to cover himself. Yet, just when the wheelchair was pulled over he saw a hand suddenly coming through the back of the chair.

As if the hand had always been part of the chair, the hand calmly broke through the back and continued forward, penetrating the hole that was already in his throat.

This time, Kelie didn’t have the luck he had previously.

That finger’s pressure was steady with iron determination. The finger penetrated into the throat and without any hesitation, made a slight hook motion.

*pa*

In actuality, the sound of the windpipe snapping can’t be heard especially under chaotic circumstances where even an explosion might have a difficult time being noticed. However, possible or not, Kelie did hear clearly the sound of his sound pipe being broken by that iron like finger.

Like the brittle fall tree branch snapping under the winter snow.

The frenzy and panic expression in those eyes gradually died down, the light in the slender demonic eyes slowly turned to darkness.

“You have already lived an additional two months and seventeen days, that’s already quite good.” The person casually pulled out his finger and wiped it on Kellie’s pretty face before walking away nonchalantly.

The ground is covered with water, the whole place in commotion with everyone stepping on each other, no one knew that there was a judgment and execution in the unknown corner. (How cool is that Ning Yi wanted to personally take care of Kelie.)

In the other corner, a sweeper servant (Ning Cheng) moving left and right dodged all the frantic crowds, with a wave of his hand a group of people by the lake immediately followed him, heading straight for the northwest back corner of the garden. A pair of stone lions sat guarding the garden gate door. The sweeper servant did not move towards the gate opening but grabbed hold of the lion on the right and turned it three times. With a creaking sound, the lion sunk into the ground, revealing a narrow path.

With another wave of his hand, the team of men briskly entered into the underground path and soon came carrying out a woman. The woman appearing paled faced and disheveled was none other than Hua Qing.

She did not cry out in alarm nor struggle, frowning at the masked Ning Cheng, her voice was weak but very alert: “You guys are here to save me?” Turning to look at the chaos in the distance, she narrowed her eyes and asked “The secret code of our army, say it.”

Ning Cheng was at first a bit haughty since he wasn’t exactly pleased that during this important time he still had to split off a team to come rescue this what in his opinion to be a completely irrelevant woman but after hearing her words, he ended up laughing instead.

“As expected of her good friend. No wonder His Highness wanted to save you.” He said with a laugh and lifted up his mask, “He said if we don’t bring you with us, then it would be pointless even if we rescued Feng Zhi Wei.”

The two already knew each other in the South Sea. Giving him a glance, Hua Qing sneered and said “Is Zhi Wei alright?”

“I don’t know, she wasn’t my assignment.” Ning Cheng said, “My assignment is to rescue you and take you out of the city but now I am starting to feel something is off.”

The two of them looked at each other, a trance of unease in their eyes– the place where Hua Qing was imprisoned, even if the two lions had some tricks to them or that everyone went to the festivities tonight or that the lake explosion drew away all the guards but there is no reason why there would not be a single person left here.

Where did all the people go?

“Forget it, we will keep to our plan.” Ning Cheng stomped his feet, “The ground over at where you were locked up and Feng Zhi Wei’s courtyard were all covered with metal plates, we couldn’t dig tunnels so we ended up with the plan of blowing up the lake. After careful observation, we realized the lake is on a bit of higher elevation than the surrounding area. It took us two months to secretly dug a tunnel to the area by the lakeshore and blew it up three times during the chaos. The explosion took out a small section, enough to wash out Jin Siyu’s main tent. It’s a shame we couldn’t blow up the whole lake or we could’ve flooded the whole manor, how great would that be.”

Carrying Hua Qing on his back, he very skillfully and with great familiarity avoided all the traps. With a laugh, he tells Hua Qing “We have familiarized ourselves quite well with all the traps in this manor or…they were destroyed by a shot of King Helian’s urine…ha ha!”

Shadows as quick as lightning flitted over the rooftop in the night. Some could feel a vague sense that a wind might have passed by overhead but when they raised their head, the only thing they could see is the starry night sky.

I think some readers had mistakenly assumed the “poor woman” in prison Jin Siyu showed to Zhi Wei was Hua Qing but that was actually a decoy. I think after losing her family in such a manner, it probably would’ve destroyed Zhi Wei completely if she lost Hua Qing as well…which is why Ning Yi said it would be pointless to rescue Zhi Wei if they left Hua Qing behind. With that being the case, we can assume if the tortured woman was really Hua Qing, it was unlikely Zhi Wei could’ve been able to keep her pretense. The other huge clue we were given in that prison scene was the little exchange between Jin Siyu and the woman prisoner after Zhi Wei supposedly passed out. If you guys remember, when Zhi Wei passed out, the prisoner looked toward Jin Siyu who then promptly signaled to her to keep quiet. That’s not the interaction of a torturer and his prisoner, but a subordinate and her master. Like I mentioned before, it was such a shame the drama decided to kill off Hua Qing’s character because not only does she not die in the novel but she is one of the coolest characters in the story.
