There was no candlelight in the room, just moonlight coming in from the window but it was enough to see everything clearly. Enough to see Jiarong sleeping peacefully on the bed, enough to see a person slowly and calmly sitting up from beside her.

The person turned around. Under the moonlight, his clothes were disheveled but his expression was composed, even his mask could not hide the cool noble air emanating from him.

Qiu Shu, Ning Yi.

Liu Sanhu stood dumbfounded. Even though he had finally figured out the person who had led him on a merry go around was Ning Cheng and knew this must be related to Ning Yi somehow but never did he imagine Ning Yi would show up in his bedroom in this condition.

Liu Sanhu stared blankly at the peacefully sleeping Jiarong then to Ning yi who was beside her. This is obviously the age-old laughable story where the bridegroom was switched on the innocent bride’s wedding night, but this time, the male and female protagonists are too unexpected.

Meeting his confused and shocked gaze, Ning Yi even nodded and smiled at him.

His smile ignited Liu Sanhu’s inside like a wildfire.

Sprinting over, Liu Sanhu raised his hand and aimed a vicious punch at Ning Yi’s chin.

Ning Yi averted the punch with a slight tilt of his head, lep up into the air and out in one smooth move. With Ning Yi gone, Liu Sahu’s target was abruptly replaced by the sleeping Jiarong. Forcefully changing the direction of his fist, Liu Sanhu’s punch landed on the bedpost with a *bang*, breaking it in half.

Even with all these commotions, Jiarong didn’t wake up.

It did bring out the Eight Braves who were hiding nearby though. Hearing the Eight Braves’ panicked inquiries, Liu Sahu shouted “Go away!”

Once the place quieted down again, Liu Sanhu glared at Ning Yi fiercely with an expression that threatens to tear him apart limb by limb, “What are you doing here?”

Ning Yi smiled, “As you can see.”

“What I see?” Helian turns his head, and looked at Jiarong, something flashed in his eyes, “I see that you came running here, climbed into my bed, and slept with this innocent woman.”

“If that’s what you think, that’s fine.” Uncaring, Ning Yi adjusted his clothes, “I have to go, I still have to be there for the roll call.”

Helian darted in front of him.

“Explain yourself clearly before you go!”

“Explain clearly…” Ning Yi looked at Helian, and suddenly smiled again. The smile this time is not the causal indifference he had on previously, but one that is terrifying chilling. The most powerful prince of Tiansheng is immediately back, “See, you carried off my woman, made her your queen. Then it’s my turn to have your woman. If you are willing, then let me have her (Jiarong), she can be a concubine.”

Helian glared at him. Ning Yi met his gaze straight on. After glaring at each other for a while, Helian abruptly laughed.

“Ha ha!”

A belly laugh bursted out of Helian. He laughed so hard that he staggered and almost fell the to ground holding his belly, “Ha ha, should I be happy or proud? How can such childish words come out of the ever dignified Prince Chu? Are you jealous? Jealous, jealous, jealous? This is too much fun…oh my…”

Ning Yi didn’t speak but just looked at him quietly.

Helian stopped laughing, wiped the tears of laughter away and his expression instantly changed, “I know what you said were not all false. At least, it is true that you mind the queen’s title. But Ning Yi, don’t treat me like a fool. This whole taking yours or mine woman? Are you insulting yourself, insulting me or her?”

Ning Yi stayed silent, sat down at the table, and poured himself a cup of tea.

“Don’t drink it.” Helian immediately sneered, “It’s poisoned.”

Ning Yi ignored him, slowly took a sip and said calmly, “Helian, even though you are a bit corse, but I still think highly of you. At least, I am very thankful to you for going to this extent for her.”

“Like I need you to be thankful to me?” Helian immediately retored, “Don’t get on your high horse and speak in the husband’s role. What right do you have to say those words? As it is, those words should be said by me to you– I am very thankful that you can do to this extent for my Queen.”

Not waiting for a reply from Ning Yi, he immediately sneered again, “But starting from tonight, I am not thankful to you anymore. I had thought that as the noble and dignified prince, the fact that you could sneak into an enemy country, become a slave, be branded, be beaten, going by your personality, that is something to be respected. However, only today, did I discover that you are still the most selfish person in this world. As expected, there are no such thing as affection in your life. Everything you have done, none of it was for her. It was always for yourself. To find– HER!”

He abruptly turned around and pointed at Jiarong on the bed.

Ning Yi met his gaze, there were no emotion in his dark cold eyes. There were no embarrassment from a hidden agenda being exposed nor were there anger and grief from being misunderstood.

Whoever saw those eyes, would only feel that if he closed his heart, then no one would ever gain entrance.

After a bit, he smiled, lowered his head to take another sip before shaking his head, “Why should I explain myself to you?”

“Of course you don’t need to explain yourself to me.” Helian was so angry that he broke out in a laugh, “There are naturally those who you need to explain yourself to. But then, I am afraid you won’t be able to explain all the terrible deeds you have done even until death.”

“If I wronged her, that I’ll wait for her to demand retribution personally.” Ning Yi said lightly, “Before that, no one has the right to demand anything for me.”

Helian sneered, “It makes me disgusted to say even one more word to you!” He quickly walked over to Jiarong, felt her pulse and could only tell that she has entered into a sort of deep sleep that doesn’t harm her body but no whether Ning Yi had done anything to her. Helian stood rooted to the spot for a few moments, sincerely unable to get himself to flung open the bedding to see if something really did happen…plus, at this point, it’s seemed too late anyway.

He now believes Ning Yi entered into the manor for this woman and even used him for his own purpose. Judging by how Jiarong hid her appearance, there must be something unusual in her background. Ning Yi, is truely shameless!

Ning Yi saw the anger burning in Helian’s eyes but he continues to sit sipping tea like nothing is amiss. Many things were indeed coincidences but no matter how others are going to twist things in their mind, he has no interest in explaining himself. What he truely cares about, the one he wants to explain to, have long since lost all possibility of explaining.

If so, it is meaningless to say anything more.

If love is no longer possible, then it is not bad to add more hate.

“I am leaving.” He stood up, pointed at Jiarong, “Please take well care of this miss for me.”

Helian stared at him, so angry that he could barely speak, and he was so angry that he couldn’t speak– with his personality, he would for sure take good care of the innocent Jairong because of this and would never take his anger out on her. Shameless Ning Yi knows well of his temperament and that’s why he is so assured.
