Night, by the small stream, under the plum trees, a big fire burning.
Hua Qiangu feels like the laughter this day alone is more than all the days combined since the day she found out Master was poisoned.
By the fire, Yuo Ro is trying her best to persuade Xiao Yue to drink wine and eat meat…then copping a feel whenever Xiao Yue is not looking making him jump back in fear. Luo Shi Yi is laying on the grass talking to Tang Bao but Tang Bao just rolls her eyes, shows him her backside as she eats the peach Luo Shi Yi had carefully presented to her.
Surrounded by the countless pupils, Mo Yan drinks silently, his expression unsually mellow and tender. Sheng Xiao Mo lazily leans against a plum tree, already dozing off.
A faint smile appears on her lips as she looks at the perfect scene in front of her, a golden hue appears in front of Qiangu’s eyes and spreads outward like a droplet of water sending a ripple through a mirror of water.
Qingliu walks over to her side and holds out a cup of wine to her, trying to convince her to drink a bit. Qiangu smiles and reaches out a hand but her hand ended missing the cup. The sound of the cup shattering caused the whole place to go silent as everyone turns to look at her. Flustered, Qiangu bends down to pick up the pieces and promptly cuts her finger by accident. Someone by her side immediately pulls her away causing Qiangu to wave her hand “I am alright, Qiangliu.”
The person froze “I am Shi Yi.”
Qiangu looks up but everything around her is getting more and more blurry. Shaking her head, Qiangu smiles. Yuo Ru grabs Qiangu in panic “Master! What’s wrong? Your eyes!”
Qiangu pats her head gently and comforts “I am alright. Just a bit dizzy.”
Bai Zihua watches her in silence even though he already knows. After his and Sha Qianmo’s effort all these years, only Qiangu’s body had recovered but her soul still hasn’t. Now that her memory has recovered, then that meant her body had to pay the price. A while ago she was too tired to fly on her own and now she can no longer see. What follows will be the loss of speech and hearing…she will be like an ordinary human who has lost all five senses.
“Xiao Gu, don’t be scared. It won’t be too long before Master will heal you completely.”
Qiangu nods with a smile. Nothing can be perfect. To be able to return to Jueqing Dian, to be with him, to be with everyone…she has no regrets.
Everyone begins to crowd around her, Tang Bao is whispering by her ear, Hengji beast is rubbing against her legs, and Bai Zihua has wrapped his arms around her tightly against her back, like the world’s strongest wall.
“This time you won’t be lonely like you were in the Wilderness of Desolation. Master will be with you every step of the way. From now on your life will just have happiness. So don’t be scared. Even if you can’t hear, can’t see and talk, use your heart to feel. Master will be with you. I will never leave you again.”
“I never believed justice, never believed evil, never believed happiness but I believe in you. Master, I…”
She tried desperately to say that phrase that he had stopped her from saying (she meant in the past)…the words that express her love for him but her world plunged into darkness and no sound would come out of her mouth so the only thing she could do is say it again and again in her heart. She knows he must be able to hear her!
The world slowly turns quiet but the sound of the laughter, the jingling of her bell and the low murmur of Bai Zihua’s words are all still echoing in her ears.
Five years later.
On top of Chang Liu, in Jueqing Dian, You Ru is squatting under a tree holding Henji beast and shaking it like a sieve.
“Spit her out! Spit her out! How can you eat Tang Bao again!”
His stomach rolling from being shaken, Henji kicks his leg frantically to express his displeasure but eventually spits out Tang Bao.
As if she was just laded from a pot of soup, Tang Bao takes one look at herself that is completely covered in Hengji beast’s slobber and promptly started to cry loudly. She was just not paying attention while eating a carrot but the next thing she knew she was attacked by that beast and got swallowed whole with the carrot.
“You are mean to me again! I am going to tell Gu Tao Mom!” Wiping away her tears along with the slobbers, Tang Bao complains “Gu Tao! When you coming home?! If you don’t come home soon then the next you see me I will be a pile of poop!”
You Ru grabs a rag and none too gently begins to clean off Tang Bao. Feeling even more wronged, Tang Bao pouts: Qing Shui, she wants the gentle Qing Shui. She has made up her mind. She doesn’t want Luo Shi Yi anymore, this time around she is going to work hard to become a man and steal Qing Shi from Xuan Yuan Lang!
A huffy Tang Bao jumps on Hengi beast who was too busy being proud of himself and took a big bite of …fur. Breaking out into a belly laugh, You Ru watches as Hengji beast runs around in circles trying in futile to shake off Tang Bao.
