Bai Zihua wants nothing more to just make the man in front of him turn to dust but the last remaining reasoning left in him knows that he has no right to do so…because the one that is in the wrong has always been himself.

But, he can’t risk losing her again so…
Taking another step forward, Bai Zihua’s fury of energy tightly surrounds the two.
Tears streaming down her face, a terrified Qiangu bows her head to the ground again and again until her forehead is scraped and bloody.
“Master, it’s my fault! It doesn’t have anything to do with Dongfang! Kill me! I truly like Dongfang and wants to leave with him. I beg you to let us go.”
Bai Zihua feels like his head is spinning as if the whole world has turned upside down. What is this? Why would the woman he loves kneel on the ground begging him to let her leave with another man?
Xiao Gu, the one you love…is it not Master?
An expression of confusion comes over Bai Zihua. He remembers again that day when Qiangu almost committed a great wrong against Ni Meng Tian and she had begged just as she is now in the pouring rain until her blood was all over the yard, killing all the plum tree overnight.
How much time has passed? The place has changed and she is once again begging him…but to leave this time?
But if she leaves then what about him?

He already has nothing left. He is not part of the immortals, he doesn’t belong in Chang Liu. As big as this world is, there is no place for him anymore. Other than Xiao Gu, he no longer knows for what purpose he is alive.
He doesn’t have any right to choose nor does he have the right to be liberated. If even she is gone, then what does he have left?

Staring at the one who seems so familiar yet so foreign, Zihua’s throat tightens as he turns to look at Dongfang. It’s all you! If it wasn’t for you…
“Master! Don’t!”
Qiangu sees a flash of silver light shooting out of Bai Zihua’s fingertip and surrounds Dongfang completely.
Under the bright light, Dongfang’s smile widens in a strange manner as another flash of light shoots out, causing a huge explosion sending Bai Zihua flying high into the sky before dropping heavily to the ground.
Her face smeared with blood, Qiangu stands up, her eyes wide open, filled with a terrifying brightness.
“I will not allow anyone else to harm him in front of me again!”
The smell of blood reminds her of that fateful day when she could only watch helplessly as Dongfang and Xiao Yue died in front of her. The shattering pain filled her once again. She will not allow it! She will never allow it again!
Bai Zihua can see that Qiangu is slowly recovering her goddess sense. Unable to say anything after the impact he has just taken, Zihua coughed up a mouthful of blood as he feels his broken sinews and bones slowly repairing themselves bit by bit. Seemingly completely drained of all his strength, Bai Zihua is too immersed in his despair to even stand up. For Dongfang, she actually…
So just as she said, she really is not going to love him anymore.


Bai Zihua couldn’t tell if he should feel pity or sadness for himself. Looking up, Bai Zihua could see Dongfang walking slowly towards him while Qiangu is standing completely still like a wooden figure, stuck in the chaos of her own mind.

The more you look at her the more confused you are of who she is. You can’t figure out why you are still alive. Being with her is your salvation but also your torment as well so you are suffering in pain every second. Unwilling to let her go but unable to accept her because deep in your heart, she is no longer the same Xiao Gu you love. If you accept her then you will feel like you are holding someone else, betraying your love. However, you can’t go on living either if you leave her. What’s the point of living like this, living in pain forever?”

Bai Zihua stayed silent. The whole air is filled with despair and hopelessness.

“This time around, I have never thought about hurting or using her. Before, we were really the same. You were for Cheng Liu and I was for Yi Xiu Ge. We both abandoned her for the sake of the Six Realms. In actuality, from that point on, neither of us had any right to choose and we all have to pay for the choice we made. It’s not that I don’t regret what I have done. So now, all I want and could do is try to make up for the past. Don’t lie to yourself anymore, that’s not fair to her. And don’t treat her like a child any longer or else she can only stay as one forever, unable to truly become the real Hua Qiangu.”
Bai Zihua shakes his head. So what if she learns to be the real Hua Qiangu. Is there a chance she will actually forgive him? When that time comes, it will be when he will truly lose her.

“Master!” Finally snapping out of her daze, Qiangu yells in fear when she sees Bai Zihua laying on the ground obviously severely wounded. Running to Bai Zihua’s side, a terrified Qiangu tries to look over Zihua’s wounds as tears stream down her face.
“I am sorry, Master. I didn’t do it on purpose. Don’t kill Dongfang. If you really won’t allow it then I won’t leave with him, I will go back with you. I won’t take a single step out of Cloud Mountain without your permission. Don’t kill him…”

Is she trying to sacrifice herself for Dongfang? Sneering in self-derision, Bai Zihua wonders when he had turned into the abominable irrational parent who wants to tear his child from her true love?

Dongfang’s figure slowly fading under the moonlight “Bai Zihua, I am not here to compete with you. I just want to fix the mistakes I made in the past. Her spirit is slowly repairing itself even if she is still really weak. However, she will one day remember everything. This is something you can’t change. If by then, she still wants to leave your side, then nothing will stop me…”

Focusing his eyes on Dongfang, a startled Bai Zihua exclaims “So you are already…”
Giving Bai Zihua a forlorn smile as his answer, Dongfang slowly fades away into nothing.
