Room No.9 (Korean Drama, New)

This one is a crime mystery fantasy drama that involves our two female leads switching bodies. As an ambitious lawyer, Hae Yi seemingly have everything she ever wanted within reach…even if it sometimes she has to resort to some unsavory means to achieve her goals. Ignoring the unsettled feelings within her when she gets involved in the case of a death roll female inmate, Hae Yi is horrified when she soon ends up switching bodies with the inmate. Promptly adjusting to the crazy situation, the female inmate…now in the body of the female lawyer is determined to use this heaven-sent chance to prove her innocence. In case the whole thing is not complicated enough, our hero- the female lawyer’s boyfriend seems to be the key to the two women’s body switching.

VERY intriguing! The whole battling the rich and powerful (which will probably take the majority of the plotline since that’s the key to proving the woman’s innocence) is not really my thing but I am very curious to see how our two female leads will untangle this web of mass so I will keep an eye on this one.
Matrimonial Choas (Korean Drama, New)

I was quite excited for this one to air since Bae Doona usually picks interesting projects. Bae Doona plays our heroine who is married to our hero, a man that is the complete opposite of her in personality. Coming to the realization that staying married will just prolong their misery, our two leads decide to get a divorce…but instead of separating in bitterness, the divorce seems to be the door for our two leads to finally come to understand each other.

I had gone into this one expecting it to be a comedy…which it kinda is but not in the traditional sense. The first episode was actually pretty depressing but this is one of those shows that seem to get funnier (even during the depressing part) as the story progresses. The writer has done an impressive job in making ALL the characters intriguing and complex, successfully showing us many sides to a seemingly ordinary situation, proving to us- the audience, that nothing and no one should be taken for granted at surface value.
Ms. Ma, Nemesis (Korean Drama, New)

This one is based on the novel series Miss Marple, by Agatha Christie. Falsely accused of killing her daughter, our heroine escapes from her psychiatric prison in order to catch the real killer on her own. Using her impressive skills of reasoning and deduction, our heroine solves many crimes while she is on her quest to find justice for her daughter’s death.

I really didn’t think I would be interested in this one at all…but then found myself glued to the screen as I watched the first four episodes in one shot (the episodes are only 35 minutes long). My favorite part is the cat and mouse game our heroine is forced to play with the detective who has vowed to capture her. It’s pretty obvious right from the beginning that the detective is not a bad guy by any means, in fact, he might be one of the few who is willing to consider the possibility that our heroine could be innocent but of course his doubts is not going to stop him from doing his job. Anyway, I found this one surprisingly addicting…even for me who usually are not too keen in this genre.
Black Scandal (Japanese Drama, New)

Once a popular actress, our heroine’s life is destroyed when she was falsely accused of cheating on her fiancee. Her career ruined and abandoned by the man she loved, our heroine is thrown into the depth of hell when her mother kills herself as a plea to the public to forgive her daughter. Swearing revenge on all who conspired to destroy her, our heroine undergoes plastic surgery to change her appearance so she can begin working in the management company that she once belonged to as a top star.
SUITS (Japanese Drama, New)

I guess after K-drama’s remake of the American series Suits, it is only appropriate J-drama come out with its own version too. For those of you who have seen the original and K-remake, I would be curious to know between the three which was your favorite.
