Mission Perfect (Taiwanese Drama, New)
A new T-daily that tells the hardship and triumph behind those who works diligently to find bone marrow donations for patients who are fighting for their life.
At first glance, this one looked like a school romance but it turns out the show will deal with more social and life issues than I thought.
If Paris Downcast (Chinese Drama, New)
Naively trusting her boyfriend, our heroine unwittingly ends up being the key witness whose testimony in court caused the death of an innocent man. Horrified to realize the truth after her boyfriend ditches her to marry someone else, our heroine must figure out how to best fix her past mistakes and how to keep hold of her dream of being a lawyer now that her ex-boyfriend is set on ruining her credentials. Zhang Han plays our hero who helps our heroine once he gets over his prejudice against her for being part of the reason that caused the death of someone dear to him.
I checked out the first couple episodes…and the pacing felt kinda slow for some reason but I am hoping that will improve once all the backstory is set up.
Myth of Sword (Chinese Drama, New)
This one is a web drama that takes a comedic spin on the beloved Chinese legend Bao Zheng (a well known judge in the Song dynasty who as the legend have it, can also judge the affairs of the dead). The drama will focus quite a bit on the bromance between our two male leads who are quite famous in their own right as Bao Zheng’s skillful detectives. We also have quite a few strong heroines in the show so I am sure there will be plenty of romance as well.
I Am A Pet At Deli Temple (Chinese Web Drama, New)
It will probably be difficult to find subs for this one but I wanted to mention it because it has a hilarious premise. A college girl from the modern day, our heroine suddenly finds herself transported back into ancient China…and trapped inside the body of a cat. Accidentally discovering that she could transform back to her human self (and back to a cat again) when she kisses our hero, our heroine has no choice but to stay by our hero’s side since he also needs her as a medicine for the poison in his body.
Let’s Shake It 2 (Chinese Web Drama, New)
For those who were fans of the original wacky alien+ancient China web drama, you are in luck! Let’s Shake It 2 is back with even more wacky comedy and we even have our same cast from the original.
Two Lives One Heart (Korean Drama, New)
Go Soo’s new drama! Go Soo will play a cardiothoracic fellow whose mother is in need of a heart transplant. The other two main characters will be Go Soo’s authoritarian boss and our heroine who decides to become a resident in the thoracic department after miraculously escaping death. I only had time to check out the first episode. The story set up was great but I have been strangely disinterested in medical dramas for the last bit so this one most likely is not going to end up on my watch list.
My Secret Terrius (Korean Drama, Drama)
Heavens, So Ji Sub as a top black ops NIS agent? In a romantic comedy no less? Who was the brilliant writer who somehow read my mind?! The first two episodes were great…other than the slight jarring effect of switching between intense action-packed spy scenes and other heroine’s comedy filled everyday ajumma life. Since this one was billed as a romantic comedy, I had thought the spy part of the story would be on the lighter side…but that wasn’t the case. However, the show has plenty of hilarious scenes that not only involve our hero but the villains as well. It was kinda of an odd experience to laugh at scenes involving villains who had just easily killed off innocent people moments before but I guess the show has repeatedly warned us through our hero’s words as he describes his and our heroine’s life as two completely different worlds. Now the two worlds have collided, it only makes sense that not only our hero’s life is turned upside down so will everyone else’s…which I am hoping is exactly what we need for a great show!

Thank you for the Friday recapping of shows. Your reviews are what influences my decision to watch a show or not.
I had caught the trailer of I am a Pet at Deli Temple and had found the premise funny and intriguing. But since it’s a web drama, finding a subbed version would be impossible.
Shake it 2 is here! I’ll just cross my fingers and toes that they don’t mess with the loveline and the ending coz my wait for this web drama to be subbed will be long too!
P.S. I could not make myself watch Ashes of Love besides the 1st couple of episodes knowing it’s full of teary heart-wrentching moments. Instead I watched snippets/parts of the entire show and then watched the last episode which was 85% gut-wrenching! But since it’s a happy ending I beared with it.
Ha ha, I just did the exact same thing as you with Ashes of Love! I watched the last 10 episodes all the way through though and still cried my eyes out for some of them but like you said, knowing the story will end happily made the sad parts not so bad.
hahaha…you have more fortitude than me. Just the last episode was more than enough for me and you watched last 10!!
Bravo!! 😀
I watched I am a Pet at Dali Temple till episode 6 and I am liking it so far! May be a bonafide hit like Legend of Yun Xi. Haha. Female lead is also acting more and more like a cat. Male lead easily distracts her by dangling furry stuffs in front of her and she will inadvertently move to catch it. And she gets distracted by people mentioning fish. She absolutely can’t resist! Hahaha!
Where are you watching it? Is it available with Eng subs? Coz I saw the series is on YT but with Thai subs…
