“I had already guessed long ago that it would come to this so I kept trying to find a way to save her. But after searching through the Six Realms the only way I came up with is to exchange my life for one small portion of her spirit. Bai Zihua, this is your last chance. I hope you can treasure this chance and not wait until it’s too late again.”

“Zhu Ran!” Mo Yan yells in hopes of stopping his son but it was too late as Zhu Ran immediately turned into a flash of light dashing towards the sky the moment he was finished talking.

Zhu Ran turned his head at the last moment towards his father. There were neither hatred nor forgiveness in his eyes. There was simply a calm acceptance that what he is about to do is perhaps the only right thing he has done in this life. The one thing he could do for the person who cared about him in the last period of his life. Thinking back to his time with Qiangu in the wilderness of desolation, it was actually a happy time…

I was really kinda sad that Zhu Ran’s character in the drama was just a minor annoying villain. As you guys can see,  Zhu Ran was one of the few people that truly understood Qiangu and ended up sacrificing his own life to save hers.

A flash of light blanketed the sky and in the midst of it, a flicker floating flare shines weakly. Before anyone has time to react, a red figure suddenly appeared and grabs the weak purple light.
“Demond Lord!” Overjoyed to see his master finally awake from his long slumber, Sha Qian Mo’s right-hand man yells out in surprise.

His face twisted from the fury and grief that threatens to consume him, Sha Qianmo is a step too late to save Hua Qiangu. Sha Qianmo had started to regain his consciousness when Qiangu healed him but wasn’t able to wake up until she is gone. Qiangu obviously timed it on purpose!

Forcing himself to suppress the violent desire to kill Bai Zihua that instant, Sha Qianmo knew he can’t afford to lose another instant to save the flicker of light that is about to disappear at any moment.

By the time Zihua snapped out of his daze, it was too late. “SHA QIANMO!”

Unable to accept that his last flicker of hope was so easily taken away from him, Zihua’s shout shakes the heaven as he disappears as well to chase after Sha Qianmo.

And thus in a manner no one could’ve predicted, the epic battle of the Six Realms ended dismally.

Thirty years have passed since the epic battle. There were about two hundred casualties but half of them died by Bai Zihua’s hand. From that point on, the demons and immortals have remained without their leaders but things had stayed peaceful and the Six Realms have also slowly begun to prosper again.

Xuan Yuan Lang and Qing Shui (the emperor and our heroine’s best friend) finally got married. You Ruo (that’s the girl disciple Bai Zihua accepted on behalf of Qiangu) became the head of Chang Liu. Luo Shi Yi and all the Chang Liu disciples who were killed all came back to life but without any memory of their past.

Every person of the Six Realms knows that the once mighty Bai Zihua is now just a super powerful psycho. Since no one could beat Bai Zihua so the only thing people could do was to avoid him. For the last thirty years, Bai Zihua frantically searched all over the Six Realms to find Sha Qianmo so he could get back Qiangu’s last remaining spirit. Often times Bai Zihua would have periods he would completely lose his mind which meant he would end up grabbing random people demanding to know where Sha Qianmo is or where his Xiao Gu is at.

But Sha Qianmo has disappeared without a trance and no one knew where he has gone.

The demons are all frightened just by simply hearing Bai Zihua’s name because his methods of interrogation are too terrifying. If Sha Qianmo’s right hand man has no clue where he has gone then why in the heaven would they know?

For thirty years Bai Zihua has not given up for one single moment his quest to find Qiangu…and during all that time he has imagined thousands of ways he would kill Sha Qianmo when he finally finds him.

One day someone finally told Bai Zihua where to find Sha Qianmo. That someone is the reincarnated Dongfang. (Dongfang is our male second lead. I don’t think they dived too deeply into Dongfang’s background in the drama but in the novel, Dongfang is the leader of the mysterious sect Yi Xiu Ge. Dongfang retains his memory in each of his lives. However, that also meant he doesn’t usually live very long in each of his lives.)

His appearance seemingly unchanged at all, Dongfang is still as polite as ever with his mysterious smile. Bai Zihua knows there are too many unanswered questions but he doesn’t have time to figure them out. Right now the only thing he cares about is how Qiangu is.

Seemingly unsurprised when Bai Zihua found him, Sha Qianmo just looks up with a mocking smile as Bai Zihua easily captured him.

“Where is Xia Gu?! Give her back to me!”

With a bright smile, Sha Qianmo replies “I will not let you see her. Go ahead and kill me.”

Unmoved even when Bai Zihua breaks his finger one by one, Sha Qianmo says “Bai Zihua, no matter how ruthless you are you can’t be more ruthless than me. No one can force me to say something I don’t want to. I will not let you see Xia Gu again or let you hurt her again. Give it up.”

The despair and hopelessness that has been building for the last thirty years washed over Zihua in that instant. He knows there is really nothing he could do to Sha Qianmo.

His leg almost buckling under him but with a firm and rasping voice, Zihua replies “All of this is my fault…I beg you to return her to me.”

He knows he is wrong now. He regrets it now. Why won’t anyone believe him? He will take care of Xia Gu now and make sure she is not hurt one bit…

His anger dissipating at the sight of a lost and desperate Bai Zihua he has never seen before, Sha Qianmo asks silently “Little One, are you willing to forgive him? Will you be angry at me for making this decision for you? For the last thirty years, he has been crazy with guilt, regret, and yearning for you. He has been suffering all these time…is that enough? Are you willing to give him one last chance?”

With a long sigh, Sha Qianmo says “These years, even after doing everything I can think of, I still couldn’t help her recover completely since we only had such a small portion of her spirit. Seven years ago I sent her back into reincarnation with the intention of giving her a peaceful life this time around. She should have grown up a bit by now, go see her.”

After staring at Sha Qianmo blankly for a few seconds, Bai Zihua finally snapped to attention and rush off towards the direction Sha Qianmo had pointed but not before he turns back briefly to say his thanks.

Sha Qianmo’s lips tugs into a resigned smile. The man Little One loves is not him so no matter how unwilling he is, it’s time to let go. Looking around with amusement, Sha Qianmo figures that after being forced to stay in this heaven forsaken place for the last thirty years in order to hide from Bai Zihua, it’s about time for him get back to sauntering around the Six Realms as the suave Demon Lord.

The heart that has been beating wildly after finding out where Qiangu is at is finally calming down but as sanity slowly returns Bai Zihua realizes the nerves have started as well.

In a tiny remote village, the smoke rising from the chimneys are peaceful and harmonious.

Even though she should be close by, but Zihua still can’t feel Qiangu presence at all. Not wanting to scare the villagers, Zihua makes himself invisible as he quickly searches through every corner of the village.

Found her!

Unable to suppress his excitement, Bai Zihua lets out a long breath and fly to where Qiangu is.

Standing silently a short distance away, Zihua stares at a little Qiangu who looks just as he remembered when she was at that age. Cautious as if the girl in front of him was a small bird that could easily be scared away, Zihua drinks in the sight of little Hua Qiangu squatting on the ground as she plays with dirt.

Looking to be about 7 or 8 with two little pigtails, still as short as ever, Qiangu at this point is even younger than when Bai Zihua first met her. His hands trembling, Zihua wants so desperately to pull her small body into his arms right then. Assaulted by a myriad of emotions, Zihua’s heart ached for Qiangu because she never learned to cherish herself but there is also anger for how cruelly she treated him. Feeling something cold on his face, Zihua reaches up and is surprised to pull his hand away to find that it is full of tears.

He has finally found her, they will never be apart again…

Totally unaware that there are others behind her, little Qiangu carefully forms the wet dirt into a ball only to have it immediately taken away by a group of little kids.

“Give me back my ball…” In a very small and teary voice, little Qiangu complains.

A boy who looks about to be five years old, sticks his tongue out at her and yells “Come to take it back from me then, dummy!”

Her lips in a pout, little Qiangu stands up and takes two steps forward but then falls right back into the dirt.

“Ha Ha! Dummy Girl can’t even walk!” Breaking out into a laugh when they heard Qiangu started to cry, the group of kids soon runs off for fear that they would end up getting a spanking once Dummy Girl’s mother comes out.

Her whole body caked in mud, Qiangu tries valiantly to get up but quickly slips down again. Feeling a pair of strong hands easily lifting her out of the mud, Qiangu looks up at Bai Zihua and promptly forgets all thoughts of crying. Grabing a pristine white sleeve, Bai Zihua begins to clean Qiangu’s face bit by bit until her little face is revealed.

“Mother…Mother…Mother! It’s a Heavenly Being! Heavenly Being!”

His face unconsciously breaking into a smile…the first smile Bai Zihua had since Qiangu left Chang Liu.
