Quick to react to any unexpected crisis now, Shin Ae allows herself only a second of fear when Mi Poong storms into her office demanding to know why she had hired the company driver to frame her. Promptly turning the table back on Mi Poong, Shin Ae accuses our heroine of foolishly believing the words of a thief (the driver) and declares herself to be innocent. Already doubtful of a complete stranger’s confession, Mama Kim takes Shin Ae’s “righteous” anger as a sign that Jang Go must’ve been mistaken and quickly apologizes to Shin Ae. Not fooled by Shin Ae’s act but with no other evidence than the driver’s confession, Jang Go promises an ever grateful Mi Poong to keep digging.

Pumped full of drugs, Daddy Kim could hardly open his eyes when a concerned Grandfather Kim tries to rouse him. Yelling in panic as Daddy Kim faints, Grandfather Kim chastises Shin Ae severely once he finds out that she has been overdosing his son. Pushing all the responsibilities on Mama Jo, Shin Ae successfully convinces Grandfather Kim that she had merely requested the drugs out of concern for her father.

No longer lethargic, Daddy Kim is quickly restored to his usual energetic self which means the search for the mysterious dumpling store is also back on. Sick of sitting on pins and needles every time the father and son goes on their dumpling search, Shin Ae buys the building Mama Kim’s dumpling store is in.

Dismayed when two rather rough looking men show up to inform them that Shin Ae’s company has acquired the building and they are to vacate the premise, Mi Poong turns to Jang Go for help. Pressured by Shin Ae to get Mi Poong to move as soon as possible, Shin Ae’s hired hands return to the dumpling store and start to trash the restaurant. Throwing himself on top of Shin Ae to protect her, Jang Go ends up in the hospital when a man smacks him with a chair.

Rushing to the hospital to check on her precious son, Mama Lee starts to wonder if the fortune teller she went to was really correct on her declaration that being around Shin Ae is dangerous to Jang Go. Unbeknownst to Mama Lee, the fortune teller was bribed to say what she did by Mama Kim.

Desperate to hold onto the dumpling store especially with the hope that her father might show up again, Mi Poong begs Shin Ae to not close the store. Despite being greatly satisfied to see Mi Poong kneeling in front of her begging, Shin Ae obviously is not about to change her mind.

With no other recourse, Mi Poong shows up the next morning in front of Shin Ae’s company holding a protest sign. Fearing the worst when several security guards rush towards her, Mi Poong struggles in vain…until Mama Kim comes to the rescue with all the homeless men declaring their willingness to help. Already frustrated that Mi Poong is refusing to go away quietly, Shin Ae panics when Daddy Kim shows up at the company with Grandfather Kim but was able to successfully use Grandfather Kim’s concern for his son’s safety to send Daddy Kim home.

Clueless that they have missed yet another chance of seeing Daddy Kim, Mi Poong and Mama Kim are just grateful that their demonstration had allowed them to keep their dumpling store open for the time being. A bit apprehensive when they are approached by a home shopping channel to start selling their dumpling  TV, Mi Poong and Mama Kim nonetheless decide to seriously investigate the opportunity once Jang Go points out that this could give them the money they desperately need to find Daddy Kim.

Eagerly setting out on a trip with Jang Go to check on the factory they would be mass producing their dumpling through if they end up signing a contract with the shopping channel, Mi Poong is all nerves…until she comes back from a bathroom break to find a young woman making googly eyes at our hero. Grumpily agreeing to the young woman’s request for a ride, Mi Poong seethes with jealousy at the evident interest in the woman’s eyes once she finds out that Jang Go is a lawyer. Amused and much encouraged by Mi Poong’s jealousy, Jang Go gleefully bickers with Mi Poong until the young woman finally asks to be let off the car because of their petty argument.

Left at home while her daughter is away on her trip, Mama Kim is going about her day until she suddenly hears someone calling her name. Much to her shock, Mama Kim turns around to find her husband right in front her. Out on a “father-daughter” date with Shin Ae, Daddy Kim had a moment of clarity after Shin Ae had unwisely left him alone for a moment. Realizing that he is probably in South Korea but with no recollection of why and how he got there, Daddy Kim chases his wife down when he spots her as he is looking around in confusion. Overjoyed to see her husband once again, Mama Kim starts to lead Daddy Kim home after a tearful reunion but unfortunately Daddy Kim’s moment of clarity was short lived and soon he is back to his child self. Frightened to see a strange adjumma holding his hand, Daddy Kim pushes Mama Kim to the ground and runs away from her.

Remembering his father’s past instructions, the child like Daddy Kim manages to get himself home by showing the taxi driver the address tag pinned on his coat. Furious to find out that Shin Ae has lost his son once again, Grandfather Kim is about to rush out of the door when Daddy Kim walks in and proudly recounts how he was able to get home by himself. Puzzled to hear Daddy Kim’s account of some adjumma tearfully calling him “husband!”, Grandfather Kim wonders if his daughter-in-law might be alive after all, but Shin Ae was quick to dispel that suspicion by asserting she saw her mother die right in front of her.

Bothered by the memory of the crying adjumma and convinced that the ring he had saw on the adjumma’s hand was the very one that belonged to his mother, Daddy Kim decide to set out the next morning in search of that strange adjumma. Furious once she realizes Daddy Kim is about to cause another crisis for her, Shin Ae drags Daddy Kim back to his room and threatens to send him to a mental hospital so no one would ever find him again.

Returning to the house unexpectedly to pick up something he had forgotten, Grandfather Kim walks into the house just in time to hear Shin Ae’s threat to his precious son. Throwing open the bedroom door, Grandfather Kim glares at Shin Ae and asks in a barely contained fury “What is this?”

Ninja’s Thoughts:

Dare we hope?! It sure looks like Shin Ae’s lies might be exposed next week…but that’s not the first time I thought that. I hope the show will give the story a few episodes to wrap up instead of dragging the big reunion until the bitter end.

Our two leads are obviously going to have a happy ending but before that happens I would really like to see some change of attitude and repentance from Mama Lee’s side. The last thing I want is for Mama Lee and Mi Poong’s big conflict to be magically solved just because she has a rich grandfather…but then that might actually be more realistic.

ps. We had quite a few flash backs of Shin Ae’s tragic childhood this week. I sure hope that doesn’t mean the writer is going to white wash her character at the end.
