Hua Qing.

Double Sword Black Widow was the first one to arrive.

“Who are you?! You dare to break into the dungeon!” Gui Jian Zhou strode over and waved the chains in his hand, “Get out!”

Hua Qing’s eyes looked over Feng Zhi Wei first then at the snakes and the fire basin, fury flashed in her eyes.

Taking a moment to examine Gu Jianzhou and his dungeon official outfit, Hua Qing immediately realized who he was. With a smile, Hua Qing said “This is Mr. Dungeon Official? I am not breaking into the dungeon, I am just here to visit my good friend.”

“If you are not forcing your way in, then put away your sword and go back…” Seeing her calm manner, a somewhat reassured Gui Jianzhou walked towards Hua Qing and was about to sternly tell her to get out when there was a sudden yell and Hua Qing abruptly grabbed him. Pulling Gui Jianzhou to her, Hua Qing thrusts her two swords into his hands. Subconsciously taking the swords, before Gui Jian Zhou could react, Hua Qing grabbed his sword-holding hand and took a swipe at her own arm.

Blood splattered out!

With blood sprayed all over his face, Gui Jianzhou stood stunned along with everyone else who stared with their mouths open, confused why Hua Qing would grab Gui Jianzhou’s hand to harm herself.

While they were all still confused, Hua Qing was already yelling: “You dare! You, a sixth-ranking prison officer, dare to attack a fourth-ranking general for no reason!”

As she yelled, she grabbed the still-stunned Gui Jianzhou and slit his throat.

Blood splattered!

With more volume and more force than the blood just now. The blood shot out like a fountain upward then came down in a bloody rain.

In the rain of blood, Peng Pei stumbled back several steps and was only able to remain standing thanks to the wall that supported his weight. However, at the lower bottom of his robe, there was a hint of wetness.

In the rain of blood, Hua Qing wiped the droplets off her face nonchalantly, causing her delicate face to appear more terrifying as the red blood smeared. Spreading open her hand, Gui Jianzhou’s corpse with the terrified expression still frozen on his face, fell to the ground with a horrifying thud that echoed in the cell.

“Everyone here saw it.” Hua Qing chuckled and spread open her arms, “This insane prison official was so addicted to executions that he suddenly attacked me, an innocent person who was only here to visit a good friend. Without any choice, I accidentally killed this person in self-defense. I am truly sorry.”

Her face was covered with Gui Jianzhou’s blood, his very corpse under her foot, seemingly unaffected by her own still-bleeding arm. Under the dim flickering lights of the oil lamps, standing there like the most vicious ghost while uttering her apology. All the guards, even the few who were in charge of the most heavily guarded cells thus quite used to the sight of blood and death were so shaken that their teeth were chattering.

Hua Qing turned her head and smiled at Peng Pei.

Peng Pei, who had spent most of his career as a civil servant, fainted from fright…

“Why did Official Peng faint? My injury is fine.” Hua Qing stood there smiling, and ordered the prison guards, “Come, take the snake and the fire basin out, they are too disgusting to look at.”

In all honesty, the one who looked the most disgusting at that moment was herself but who would dare to say a word about it?

The act of killing people is not shocking but the manner she did it was too ruthless and ghastly that all the guards were stunned into submission. Besides, with their minister still unconscious, they are afraid if they don’t do what she says then this famous female general might drag them over, and give herself another swipe so she can “accidentally kill out of self-defense”. She lose one cup of blood but other people would lose their heads.

The snake bin gone, the fire basin out, Hua Qing picked up the “Confession Statement” from the floor and read it before tossing it into the nearby fire basin with a sneering laugh.

She then yelled loudly, “I was stabbed by your prison officer, call someone to attend to my wound!”

“General Hua…” An officer in the Ministry of Punishment came rushing in, casting a glance over at Gui Jianzhou’s corpse, his expression stiffened but still forced himself to answer, “Since the general wants the wound treated, then it’s better to follow me up first.”

“Ah, I can’t, I am dizzy.” Hua Qing immediately put out her hand to hold onto the cell door, seemingly ready to crumble to the ground, “I can’t move a step, I will just stay here.”

She was just brazenly killing people and yelling out orders energetically a bit ago, but she is suddenly fragile in a blink of an eye.

The official stared at her, not knowing what to do. Hua Qing is not like Wei Zhi who is locked up in the dungeon. This General Hua is the hero of the Battle of Baitou Cliff, she is currently the most popular lone female general of this empire. It is said that she will soon be sent to Southern Xinjiang to take command there. Rumor also has it that her husband is of the Yan clan that possesses wealth that could rival an empire. It would be bad to offend someone like this. Not to mention someone as ruthless as her, who could guess what she would do if they angered her?

“My head is dizzy.” Hua Qing leaned her back against Feng Zhi Wei’s cell door, facing Gu Nan Yi’s cell. She dragged over the two square tables the prison guards were using to eat and drink on. She then found some bedding to put on the table before climbing onto it as if no one else is around.

Hua Qiong declared loudly, “I was stabbed by someone from your Ministry of Punishment. I am dizzy and can’t walk. From now on, I am going to recuperate here.”

She lay down comfortably, sleeping between the two cells, leaving the guards and officials to stare at her dumbfounded.

Hua Qiong lay with her eyes close, paying no heed to the blood dripping from her arm. Her hand, behind her back, slowly reached out and touched Feng Zhi Wei’s outstretched hand, reaching out from between the cell bars.

Their hand clasped together.

In the darkness, two women who have gone through life and death together, something bright glistened in the corner of their eyes.

Feng Zhi Wei held Hua Qiong’s hand tightly and asked in a low voice, “How did you get in?”

She is a little worried that Hua Qiong had forced her way in without any regard, she would get in some trouble if that was the case.

“Would the Ministry of Punishment be easy to break in? Even if I have no regard for myself, I need to worry about you.” Hua Qiong replied, “If I forced my way in, wouldn’t I be giving those people the opportunity to blame you for yet another thing? I am not that stupid. I came in with Prince Chu.”

“Oh?’ Something flashed across Feng Zhi Wei’s eyes.

“Since your case is now in the Ministry of Punishment, as the Prince over the Three Justice Departments, it is only natural for him to come to inquire after the case. No one has the right to stop him.” Hua Qiong explained with a smile, “He had all the officials in the Ministry of Punishment running around widely doing his bidding. One moment, he wants some old files. The next moment, he wants to see the evidence. And the moment after that, he wants to summon everyone to discuss how to handle such a serious imperial case. As a member of His Highness’ entourage, no one dared to stop me from walking around so that’s how I “accidentally” walked over here.”

Feng Zhi Wei couldn’t help laughing. Hua Qiong whispered in her ear and said, “I have been here for a while but His Highness told me to not rush in, and to wait until Peng Pei is ready to start the torture before I make my move. Oh, I almost burst with anger listening to them. It was with great difficulty I held it in. Hehe, killing that Gui Jianzhou, it felt awesome!”
