Completely dazzled, Qiangu unconsciously reaches out her hand wanting to make sure if the man in front of her is not just her imagination. Sometimes she would dream of a heavenly being who is dressed all in white. In a panic when her hand left five dirt fingerprints on Bai Zihua’s face, Qiangu tries to wipe it off but just ends up making it worse. Grabbing hold of Qiangu’s hand with his own trembling one, Zihua can’t bear to let it go again.
“Ouch ouch…” Pouting, Qiangu looks up at Zihua in an accusing glare when his hand unconsciously tightens around hers.
With a wave of his hand, Zihua instantly clears the dirt on Qiangu’s clothes and wipes away the tears on her face.
It’s so good. She can finally let herself cry in this life.
“Who are you? Are you a heavenly being?”
After thinking for a moment, Zihua nods then replies in a soft and gentle voice “What’s your name?”
Looking down, Qiangu answers “My…my name is Silly Girl. Mom! Mom! Come see the heavenly being!!!”
Walking out of the house, a woman calls “Silly Girl, did you fall or was someone mean to you…” Her voice trails off once she sees Zihua, the woman finally snaps out of her daze when Qiangu runs to her and tugs on her clothes “Hea…heavenly being!”
Scared out of her mind, the woman yells loudly “Silly Girl’s Dad! Come quickly!”
After a few moments, a robust man walks out of the house with one hand holding a cloth diaper and naked squirreling baby in another. With another young lad toddling behind him, the man yells “What are you screaming about? I am in the middle of changing the baby…”
Respectfully raising his hands to Qiangu’s two dumbfounded parents, Zihua says “My name is Bai Zihua. I hope you can allow me to take Silly Girl with me so she can become my pupil.
Compeletly stunned, Qiangu’s mother could hardly belive her ears. The heavenly being wants her Silly Girl to be his pupil…but…
“To be honest with you, the doctor has said that my Silly Girl will always have the mental capacity of a 3-4 year old child. She will be very troublesome to you if she becomes your pupil.”
Nodding, Zihua replies “I know this but this child has a very deep connection to me. From now on, I will bring her back every six monthes to visit you.” He knew the moment he set his eyes on Qiangu that her body has many issues physically and mentally. However, it was still very impressive of Sha Qianmo to be able to accomplish so much with such a small portion of Qiangu’s spirit, no wonder he was so weak.
After discussing for a while, Qiangu’s parents happily consents to Zihua’s request. After all, to be able to become such a person’s pupil is a great honor.
“Alright, I will take her with me then. Silly Girl, come over and bow to your parents.”
Obediently, Qiangu bows to her parents but soon begins to sob when she wonders why she has to go with the heavenly being. Are her parents selling her off to the heavenly being? She knows she is dumb but she is always obedient!
Qiangu’s mother started to cry as well as she put two bread buns into Qiangu’s arms. Silly Girl, a man who looks so handsome can’t possibly be a bad person. If you stay at home then the only future you have is to grow up and marry some dummy. I don’t want that kinda of sad future for you…
Picking up Qiangu into his arms, Zihua bids her parents goodbye and flies off into the sky. So frightened by the sight, Qiangu’s parents fall to their knees in amazement.
Equally amazed to find herself in the air, Qiangu promptly forgets all about crying. Excited and scared at the same time, Qiangu holds Zihua’s neck firecerly with one hand and reaches for the clouds with another.
“Heaving being, where are we going?”
His face slowly returning back to his trademark calm and aloof expression now that Qiangu is with him again, Zihua replies “Don’t call me heavenly being, call me Master from now on. We will go wherever you want to go.”
“Really? But Silly Girl wants to go home.”
His hands tightening around Qiangu instantly, Zihua replies “Silly Girl will be your nickname and your name will be Hua Qiangu from now. We need to go see your uncle first so he can look over your condition, alright?”
“Is uncle a heavenly being as well?”
“Yes.”
“Alright then.” Wrapping her arms around Zihua’s neck, Qiangu’s voice is as soft as the clouds around her.
Handing a few precious medicines over to as he looks at a sleeping Qiangu in Zihua’s arms, Sheng Xiao Mo asks “Why did you call me out here instead of coming back? Cheng Liu is your home after all. Do you really not want to come home at all?”
Looking out towards Cheng Liu’s mountains, Zihua slowly shakes his head “I almost killed her because of Cheng Liu once.”
“Everyone has their own burdens to carry. You can’t hold onto that guilt forever. But I am finally at ease now I that I see you have turned back to yourself again. Did you know how scary you were when you got all crazy and couldn’t recognize anyone?”
Shaking his head again, Zihua sighs “Even now, I still feel like a string that is wound so tightly that I could snap at any moment. I am desperate to hold her in my arms every second in fear that something will happen to her. If I lose her again…”
“That’s not going to happen. What are your plans now?”
“I am going to find a place to settle down so I can take good care of her. The old Bai Zihua could sacrifice everything for the Six Realms, but he died the moment he pulled out the sword of Xuan Yuan. From now on, this Bai Zihua will only live for her.”
“But you are still planning to stay as her Master?”
“I don’t know, but this currently is the best relationship for us. If she still wants me then I will give her everything.”
Giving Zihua a sad smile, Seng Xiao Mo says “Zihua, you’ve changed.”
“I didn’t change, I am just too scared now. My heart no longer has room for right or wrong, it only has room for her now. These past years I kept thinking about being proper. Proper is just a word. Perhaps that is something that took sacrificing one’s own happiness and everything to figure out. I devoted myself to Cheng Liu and the Six Realms but I have never done anything for her. I did my duty by Cheng Liu and the Six Realms but I wronged her and myself. We both made mistakes and in the end, hurt each other. Now, I finally have another chance to start over. I will not abandon her as I did before.”
“But have you thought about what would happen if she recovers her memory one day?”
His body jerked and an expression of sadness settled on his face, Zihua replies “Who knows. I would’ve rather if she could stay forever like she is now. Not knowing anything, living in simple happiness.”
Staring up at the sky after Zihua leaves with Qiangu, Sheng Xiao Mo thought “Perhaps this is the best ending.”
Waking up to find herself surrounded by green mountains and clear waters, Qiangu asks “Master, where is this?”
“I don’t know either. Xiao Gu, why don’t you give it a name?”
Clapping her hands, Qiangu declares “Yes! We are surrounded by clouds, let’s name it Clound Mountain?”
Kneeling down, Zihua takes out two small bells and hangs it around Qiangu’s neck.
Liking the gift on sight, Qiangu asks “Master, why are there some many cracks in the little bells?”
Gently touching Qiangu’s head, Zihua answers “Because a big dummy accidentally broke it but luckily they are still okay.”
Staring at Zihua’s sorrowful face, Qiangu is hit with the urge to kiss him like her mother does to her when she cries but how could she do that to a heavenly being? Skipping ahead, Qiangu tries to make the bell tinkle louder by running around but ends up falling down.
Picking Qiangu up, Zihua takes her hand in his and slowly makes their way towards the mountains.
Forever and ever, they will never be apart again…
The End.
As you guys can tell, the drama more or less used the novel’s ending. The problem? This is not the ending actually. The novel technically ended here but the postscript tells the rest of the story which is where we will pick up next week!

Yes! Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for the translations. Eagerly waiting for next week!
Waiting for next week.
Thank you for this!
I’ve been reading everything you’ve translated for this novel and it makes so much more sense than what happened in the drama (it didn’t help that they cut so many scenes toward the end).
Still think Zihua is an idot who doesn’t deserve her but I’m looking forward to his redemption.
Thank you so much for this. Can’t wait for next week
I have a question if you don’t mind. There is quite a lot of epilogues out there for this novel that I’m not clear which ones are written by the author and which ones are fan fiction. There is a story I read titled 再见东方 from http://www.siandian.com/xiaoshuo/huaqiangu/. Is that considered canon?
I did some research to answer your question (which happily was the reason I found a few more epilogues that apparently were added into the reprints of the novel). As far as I can tell, I don’t think the part you are referring to is part of the epilogues from the writer…however, I am not 100% certain on that.
OMYGOOOOOD. Thank you so much!!! Huhuhu. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME IN MAKING THIS. You are such a wonderful, fantastic, human being. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
And omg waiting with bated breath for next week! Thank you!!!
