Gui Zhong Mei Ren (Beauties In The Closet)
Vic Chou’s fantasy palace romance is finally out!
Synopsis: As a lowly marten living in the fox tribe, our heroine, Qing Feng yarns for a chance to prove herself. Jumping on a mission to assassinate the cruel emperor in order to give the fox clan a chance of survival, Qing Feng enters into the palace with her best friend (a rare nine-tailed fox) as dancers. Stunned when the tyrant emperor dies before they could even start planning his assassination, the two girls watch with amazement as the next emperor are also killed shortly after. Turning their gaze onto our hero (Vic Zhou) who eventually becomes the emperor, Qing Feng and her best friend decide their mission is still in effect…but what is our heroine to do when she falls in love with the man she is supposed to kill and what’s worse, the man doesn’t even return her feelings but only has eyes for her best friend?! (Don’t worry, this is not a she loves him but he loves her kinda story. The emperor has no choice but to be drawn to the best friend at first because of some supernatural effect and the best friend will also have her own romance line with another character.)

This one is kinda fun. It does have some palace intrigue but most of the story is focused on the romance. The pacing does feel a bit slow to me but not too annoyingly so. By the way, Vic Chou looks good here so that made me even more hopeful for his upcoming drama Flame’s Daughter with Dilraba Dilmurat that should air in the beginning of March…hopefully on March 1st.
Waves, Waves (Korean Drama, New)
The new K-daily that follow’s our heroine’s path to a blissful life even after her family is seperated and lost everything in the Korean War. I’ve only had time to check out the first episode which is still all background set up stuff so I will probably come back to this one after the adult actors show up.

The Black Company (Japanese Drama, New)

After giving up his musical aspirations, our hero’s seemingly aimless life suddenly finds focus when he meets the CEO of a burger company who praises him for his honest opinion of the company’s burger. Joining in the burger company with grandiose dreams his new boss has promised him, our hero belatedly finds out after he might’ve gotten himself in a sticky situation.

Not really my sort of show but might be fun for those who need to vent off some steam after a hard week at work.
Five Days To Execution (Japanese Drama, New)

The sole survivor of a brutal murder that took the lives of his grandfather and parents 30 years ago, our hero is dismayed and stunned when he is asked by a woman to take on the case of a death roll inmate – the very man that killed his family. Eventually agreeing on taking the case, our hero starts to find the shocking truth behind what really happened 30 years ago.

The Lord Swordship (Chinese Drama, New)
The newest Chinese Wuxia drama that tells the story of our hero seeking revenge against an evil organization that took his beloved wife. (Our hero’s wife is actually not a good guy so that leaves room for our hero to develop a new romance once he finds out the truth.) Not your typical Wuxia hero, our protagonist loves money and has no problems employing “creative” means to defeat his enemies so that makes this character kinda refreshing.
